Happy Valentine's Day to all of my fellow cuddlers!!!!!
Whether you got someone in mind, in a relationship, single, or maybe it's just complicated, don't forget to love yourself! Easier said then done, believe me I get it, but I'm rooting for us! Compliment yourself in the mirror. Treat yourself to something that makes you happy. Heck, buy yourself some chocolates. No matter what, incase ya needed to hear it today, you are worthy of compassion. You are valid. Take care ❤
Buy yourself chocolates, say less. 🤪
Buy yourself a heart shaped❤ pizza🍕, that's where the real love is at!🤤
I had a client who would bring Valentines to anyone she encountered that day.
Yesterday I got a Valentine in the mail from a platonic friend and it reminded me of one I got years ago from another platonic friend that was just hilarious. I think I still have it somewhere, I need to get it out and reread it.
Rather than be my own Valentine I plan on giving others my own little Valentines tomorrow. I made some special cookies (again) and will share those with whom I cross paths.
Oh, I found the funny Valentine.
I like to think of it as a day to remember those I have loved, those who have made me feel loved, and try to let others know they are loved.
I buy myself flowers all the time. 💖
Favorite part when people ask what occasion are you celebrating... I'm over here like...
I'm celebrating myself cause I'm fucking awesome. 😂😂
More than one source traces the day back to the Roman observance of the ides of February, Lupercalia, during which they practiced some odd fertility rituals - drunken naked men hitting women with the pelts of sacrificed dogs and goats. Women apparently cooperated in this, believing it would aid in fertility.
According to this source, there were two different men named Valentine who were martyred by the Romans.
I love this weird history. Who knew? This certainly was not the story I was told.

More history of Valentine’s Day from History.com which includes an explanation for the pelting women with the skins of dogs and goats.
I will make it a point to eat some good chocolate tomorrow and call a couple of friends.

@Babichev Your cookies are ART 💗 super cool !
I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day. Do something kind for someone else if you are able to. A small act of kindness from you may end up having a big positive impact on someone else's life. Stay safe, and happy cuddles!
@Babichev's cookies are always amazing. I remember seeing them for the first time in the... cooking thread, I think? and being amazed.
My Dictionary of Saints (John J. Delaney, 1980) mentions two or possibly three Valentines:
This is how I always used to get my information about stuff. "Inter net? What is this inter net you speak of?" Ah, the good old days.
And that Valentine's card is great.
@Nature_Lover_ 😂
@Thund3rt1tan pizza is certainly my love language 😍
@Babichev it's sweet of you to do that for your friends. Those treats look delicious! Never knew that about Valentine's Day. It's crazy to think how thing's start compared to how history evolves traditions.

Whether you have a Valentine or you're your own Valentine, have a great day and remember to show some love
MERGED all Valentine's Day into one thread.
@Maverick07 - My favorite chocolate shop was across the street from my old office and yes, the day after Valentine’s Day is a great day to buy chocolate!
@Spud424 - Meant to thank you for that icon of St. Valentine. Love it!
Here’s a little Valentine’s Day thought from Richard Burton: “We are molded and remolded by those who have loved us.” I often think about how certain people have touched my life and left their mark on me, whether it’s a particular piece of information or insight or a recipe or an interest.
Lunch with my girl bestie today. Put some Tiffany’s on her wrist ❤️
I always have dark chocolate in my refrigerator. You have to keep it there in Arizona. I have three kinds.
