To the mods, can we have a purge day on the CC threads? ⛈

  • Why? What is the point other than hurting people? Because I'm fairly certain the rationale behind almost every forum rule is to keep people from hurting each other (or to keep the forum usable for all).

I think you nailed it, @desi_babe: the only point a "purge thread" could possibly have is to allow people to say whatever nasty and vicious things they would otherwise have to swallow.

Which can be tough! Biting back things you want to say isn't always easy, and I'll admit there are times when I'd love to be cruel to one person or another on here—but I think it's better for them, me, and everybody else that I don't.

    Purge thread? Bad idea.

Edit: ...On second thought, there might be another point after all. To allow people to spread lies and misinformation. Huh. That's not great either.

@DaringSprinter I agree. If this site is not facilitating conflict, it's because the theme of the site is not supposed to be conflict - it's supposed to be comfort.

  • I think a more appropriate name then "purge" would be "ignore this thread for your mental health"

  • I'd love to see a purge day. It would make for a useful block tool to avoid the chance of meeting a bunch of TOXIC grown ass adults who feel the need to argue and be hateful towards one another on a CUDDLE forum.
Grow tf up. Go touch grass. Meditate. Learn a trade. Pick up a hobby.

Joke or not the fact this is even a topic of discussion paints this site and it's members in a very unflattering light. Go start a discord group and pick each other apart there. Ffs.

@Rezz: I don't know about that. It seems to me that toxicity breeds toxicity—an unmoderated thread could easily lure even people who would normally be polite into hot argument and insult.

Regarding Discord... well, there is a group. It's just not very active. And I don't think most people there want it to turn into a hate-fest, either.
