And growing up in the Northeast specifically New York New Jersey Metro I'm a pretty harsh judge of pizza. Down here they call Papa John's and Snappy Tomatoe pizza.

My elementary school pizza growing up was better than the large chains … Last week my best friend brought her nephew over for the 1st time so I can meet him …I wanted him to feel 100% welcome / comfortable & at home 🏠 so I gave him the remote control to the tv & asked him if he was hungry, that I’ll order what ever he wanted 😄 … he said , “I want dominos”
My reaction - “oh really you sure”??? he said yes !! And I ordered it like this - 😅 My best friend was Lol’ing her butt off 🤣😂
I’ve been looking through reports and shaking my head at the goofballs. In the background is a BBC World Service report on the situation in Ukraine. I can’t get accustomed to hearing “Keev” rather than “ki-EV.” What am I thinking? Not much. People are wonderful and awful and weird and kind and confusing and comforting all at the same time.
Regarding pizza: St. Louis is pizza hell or, at the very least, pizza purgatory. There is decent pizza available but there is a type of pizza called “St. Louis style” that is an abomination. The crust is thin, too crispy, and tasteless like a plain unsalted soda cracker. The sauce is unremarkable. The cheese is disgusting. It’s some weird gooey thing like anemic Velveeta. It sticks to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter. Lucky me, there’s such a pizza parlor right at the end of my block. I’d rather eat sawdust than their pizza. Why could I not have one of the good ones on my block?
Meanwhile, the BBC is describing explosions and smoke filled skies outside of Kiev. I feel sickened hearing about it. I have nothing to complain about.

A sort of internet acquaintance of mine lives in Kyiv. I've been checking her Tumblr way more often than usual these past few days, just to make sure she's still alive.
I don't know her real well. I've never spoken to her. But I read some of her work, and it's weird to think of war taking her before she finishes so much stuff. I know humans are mortal and there's no guarantee any of us will make it to the end of the day, it's just... war? I wasn't expecting it.
She went to bed a while back. I hope she hasn't been killed.
My spellcheck wouldn’t even let me type Kyiv earlier, now it will. It wanted to go with Kiev. Go figger.
My father-in-law was born in Odessa. His family all left when he was very young and it’s a good thing they did, they probably would have ended up in concentration camps during WWII. I’ve got acquaintances from Ukraine. It’s these small connections that make it all the more real.
I just heard that Elon Musk just did something with a satellite to improve their internet, which has been disrupted. For all his ups and downs, that’s a good thing.
My poor bunny isn’t getting her usual dose of cuddles tonight, I should remedy that.

Thanks, @OhioMike. She's still alive (as of a few hours ago, anyway), and still in Kyiv, sheltering in her apartment with her family. She says the bomb shelters don't have bathrooms.
I don't even know if North Dakota has bomb shelters, never mind bomb shelters with bathrooms. Wild, the stuff you never think about until things happen.
I'm wishing with every fiber of my being that my cousin was still alive. She died of a heart attack last night. I'd give anything for her to still be alive for her kids.
