I think people like cuddling because it's enjoyable and helps reduce stress - just like telling someone about your day. That's why I felt a thread where people could do so was important. I hope you feel the same!
So, over the past week, a 'friend' has frequented my backyard. I've had many over the years from living in both North Carolina and Alaska, such as: bears, moose, deer, raccoons, possums, moles (well, under my yard), mice, cats, dogs, hogs, chickens, hawks, a handful of drunken people, drug addicts, etc., to name a few - but most recently, a peacock.
On that fateful morning, I had assumed peacocks were flightless birds, that there were none residing in my rural neighborhood and that we had chocolate chips so I could make everyone pancakes. Sadly, I was wrong.
Why, exactly, was there a large exotic bird perched in a tree in my backyard? My neighbors own one. I wasn't aware of this. Days later, it was declared a case of mistaken identity due to the fact that my neighbors' peacock was happily at home. While my neighbors wanted to catch it, I was robbed of my chance to watch or join several well-respected pillars of the community (and my parents - ba dum tiss -) chase and be chased by an angry peacock. It had left on its merry way.
My cats treed a peacock, folks. I'm not sure if that's the most odd or if the case of mistaken identity is. Then again, larger birds have inhabited the area so I should've expected this somehow. I forgot to mention that my parents once owned and ran an ostrich-farm.
(I'd provide a picture or video but my phone is being moody. If I remember, I'll try to upload something from my computer!)
So, my wonderful readers, how was your week/day?
