How do you feel when a potential cuddler views your profile?
Hmm. Well....
Everyone on here is a potential cuddle buddy. The potential's pretty small in some cases (distance, preference, personality, and so on can really cut down on the odds), but there's always a possibility that's at least marginally above zero.
So how do I feel when another site member visits my profile? Uh... I don't feel much. Vaguely interested, I guess. "Oh look—another cuddler passing by. Cool."
Now, if they send me a message, that's different! In that case I feel happiness and mild panic.
(It's the social anxiety, doncha know.)
It's there to be looked at but don't expect people who visit to message you.
@Drop_the_Mike People are curious and its an opportunity to introduce yourself to them, I don't attach any expectation to it, though. I'd be waiting all day for something to happen. Sometimes people check out your profile for completely random reasons. Something you said caught their attention or whatever. So, attaching anything to their visit, could be a wrong guess. Also, it's better to focus on your joy than to waste it on random events.
If they're nearby I'll give their profile a look. If they have a nice profile (pic, bio, karma) and I like what I see I'll send a message!
I often forget that there's a button to see that people have stopped by... But when I do happen to check it, I kind of like the momentary bouncing around my mind does wondering how someone from the other side of the country happened upon my profile. Then quickly realize it's likely due to some sort of wack-a-doodle nonsense I've posted in the forum at some point. 🤷♀️
It's a nice way to begin an interaction too, so I like that the visitor log exists. 🙂👍
@quixotic_life I'm pretty sure my first visit to your profile was after some of the eloquent forum wisdom that you refer to.
@quixotic_life This, "a nice way to begin an interaction". It's a great way to dive in and at least, virtually, to meet people.
When people have a profile and a photo or two, our internal value-system has a chance to form an opinion a picture, of that person. For me, I am only attracted-to, or want-to-engage-with, people, is through building that internal image and through getting to know them.
So, if you want to understand why someone might not create a profile, it may be a way to have some feeling of control. If you want an argument, in-favor-of creating a profile, it will absolutely cause people to invest more in a connection with you.
I will click on a profile just to see where they are from….it will show the city, then clicking on a profile I can see the state or county☺️
They were curious for one reason or another, maybe they read one of my forum posts and clicked on my profile (90% of my visits) but not necessarily curious enough to message. Most of my visits are from curious people that clicked on my forum post.
If they’re close I might message them, or if I’m intrigued enough I may message them.
I see it as an opportunity to make a connection. When people visit my profile, if they’re in my area I will often send them a message and introduce myself. Some people are shy or have social anxiety and have a hard time starting the conversation. Sometimes people misunderstand something or have a question about my profile, but they don’t reach out. By starting the conversation, it gives me and the other person an opportunity to start a dialogue and begin to connect.
I feel like yea, they wanna cuddle with big Daddy 🤷🏻♂️
So far I think people only view my profile after I have already viewed there's I think I need to work on my profile
In general, I feel nothing. I'm quite active on the forum so I get a fair number of visitors. I don't check that tab every day so I might not even notice.
However, I do sometimes feel a particular emotion connected to a particular person. Most commonly I suspect that would a small measure of happiness that that person is taking enough of an interest I'm me to look.
Or ... anticipation, I think. If it's somebody I recently contacted for the first time. 'Aha! Moment of truth coming up!'
The vast majority of folks who view my profile do not message me. Of those that do, it's almost always straight away so I have already read the message before I see that they viewed me. Some random person viewing my profile and messaging subsequently is very rare.
