There are lots of things people love and decide to do professionally. I can't understand why cuddling keeps getting lumped into a different category, as something that if you love to do it you shouldn't get paid for it or if you get paid for it, you can't possibly love doing it.
I love creating art and writing and would love to make a living doing those things. Cuddling as well.
Cuddling is a service a pro provides to a client for compensation for their time, emotional and general labor, and risk to personal safety. If anyone does this as a side gig after working a full-time job, I commend them because there is a lot of background/behind the scenes work that goes into this. Enthusiasts are basically angels doing volunteer work. I commend you all too.
If two pros cuddle do they cancel each other's fees out?
@MrMarkAndrew
Generally it's whoever reached out to whom. As a pro I've reached out to Pros, but my pro status wouldn't negate payment, and vice versa.
If it's mutually wanted we will usually split costs of rides/accommodations/etc. (but I've done this with clients before who I've really connected with, are having hard extenuating circumstances, and the like.)
I’m so glad that this is something I do full time. Everyone dreams of having a job doing something they love, to wake up every morning going “yes! I’m excited for work!” That’s me. I love this job. I do still have to deal with nut jobs and crazies and there’s definitely a lot of work in the background when it comes to vetting cuddlers, but even through all of the negative aspects, it doesn’t make me change my feelings on cuddling professionally. I’ve done it for almost 3 years and I have not wavered.
I know plenty feel like the idea of paying for cuddling takes the genuineness out of the experience and everyone is different, but all I can say is if you find that right pro that you click with, it’s worth it.
The points made for the positive side of hiring a pro is very valid. The reason why boundaries was one point mentioned wasn’t because enthusiasts don’t have boundaries. There are definitely “pros” out there that don’t care for the rules of the site and push your boundaries but if you find an amazing pro that’s experienced, you are more guaranteed to have a cuddle with someone that will be professional, on time, cater to you and everything you platonically desire in a cuddle and depending on the pro, make another friend. There are pros and cons to both enthusiasts and pros and both sides have equal points. Choose what suits you. If the idea of paying for cuddles is too difficult to get over, then keep to enthusiasts. The downfall of enthusiasts is that for men seeking women enthusiasts, it’s very difficult. The positive for pros is depending on your area, you can have a pro come to you or vice versa the very next day.
Everyone is different. Everyone finds value and connection in something different to another. I just want to make sure that my perspective as a pro is written here. Just because it’s my job, does not make me think “$$$$$$$” while I’m holding you. If you’re respectful of me and my boundaries and we click, I guarantee I’m loving every second of it just like you.
And no, just because I absolutely love cuddling, it does not mean I should do it for free. That means I would have to find a 9-5 job that makes me depressed and that also takes away time I could spend cuddling. I wake up happy knowing this is my job! It’s pure bliss my friends 🌸🌸🌸
I think I’ve said it before. I 💕cuddling and being a pro gives me the ability to be available for cuddles instead of behind a desk 9-5.
I love cuddling, can't get enough; though in my present situation, I get none. Cuddling to me should be spontaneous, affectionate and tender. It should not be clinical like you're making an appointment with the dentist. Having said that, I think the important thing is to get to know the person, honestly and with absolutely no judgment regardless of what that person believes. It's about tending to the soul more than just feeling a warm body. It's about giving of one's self which helps both the giver and the receiver heal in ways they never knew they needed. It's about understanding and a desire to understand, accepting the other person in their true, raw and vulnerable self so they know they have one place they can just be. I would love to become a professional just to leave this imprint on others so they in turn could be the same to others. I look forward to my first cuddle on CC regardless of professional or enthusiast.
Whoa the original post and poll all changed! 😳. Gosh now I have to start over …..side note I wish this didn’t happen like it happens … oh well 🤔
@OhioMike The original ost didn’t really change. I added the Edit and it didn’t allow me to keep my poll. For anyone that is interested in what the poll results were at before my edit: with a little over 40 members polled…
No - 45%, Yes - 55%
I love my job. Actually. The fact that I get paid for it means that I don't have to get a second job.
I absolutely love cuddling! Long before I even became a pro , I love hugs , I love meeting new people an just getting really close an personal with different people I think if done correctly an with someone your comfortable with its a really beautiful time an can be extremely healing .
I love cuddling so much! I love touching people and being touched! It is so very pleasurable to me and makes me happy to please others! And I don’t like mixing money with it. Money will cause different feelings for me and the situation and I don’t need to bother with that complication. I can keep money and pleasure separate, so I do! -Colleen
@JoyfulHeart exactly! I wouldn't have time to cuddle (let alone message people, drive places, do laundry, pay for all that, etc) if I needed a third job to replace the income I receive from being a Pro cuddler. You can love something and not do it for free. Do comedians not love comedy or musicians not love music if they charge for their shows?
Absolutely! I spent majority of my younger life avoiding physical contact. I would freeze when someone would get close to me for a hug. I felt really awkward and thought hugging was weird and sappy. It would be a great day for you if you got a high five, or a handshake from me. wierd little girl,i know, lol.
I then graduated to the weak side hug (you know the ones) when someone came in for an embrace. After learning more about myself, getting more comfortable in my own skin and with others, i realized how good it felt to be embraced. Most importantly I allowed myself to do so, I didn't go around hugging just anyone, but slowly but surely felt enjoyable to give that love!
Fast forward, the seasoned embracer that I am today is so proud to be where she is now. I am so grateful for this community and all of the members who are so transparent and compassionate. I'm really grateful and the little girl inside me is so proud to be able to share the gift i've hidden (or didnt know about) with members on CC. Yes its the cuddles, yes its the hugs, but its also the connection beyond the physical.
Cuddle hard or die trying
no but if the animal stays too long... they will be euthanized. also if the animal is wounded and requires surgery... it will be euthanized. It's not sustainable.
I love cuddling and giving cuddles and there are free cuddlers on this platform it may just be the ones you want cost.
I get a lot of people trying to guilt me into free cuddles with statements just like this. " if you loved it you'd do it for free" the best artist get paid for their craft, and they choose who gets a free show.
@oxygenjunkee Your time-is-money, like anyone else. Just because you are passionate about, and enjoy your job, doesn't mean you should work for free. When I see cuddler friends, there's always a squeeze and a bit of a snuggle. But when I request a session, that's an agreement that I get their undivided attention. Big difference.
I'm a social worker and also a certified Reiki Energy Healer. I consider cuddling touch therapy and feel I qualify as a professional due to my education and training.
If you're good at something, never do it for free.
Why shouldn't someone make money from something they find enjoyable? That's like saying anyone that has a small craft business should only do it if they hate it, or a sex worker should only do their job if they hate sex.
In the end people wouldn't pay the professional if they didn't find some value in it. The value of something is created by the buyer.
@sunshine77 I agree. In fact, I think it's possible for the buyer to value something more when money or other cost had been put into it.
As for paid cuddlers being genuine, I'm sure that some are more and some less. In my experience, there have been some notable pros who make it clear that they value me as a person. It doesn't bother me at all to pay them.
"The rescue loves taking in injured, abused, abandoned animals, or animals that need a new home, to help them any way they can."
A bit of a side note:
I wouldn't exactly say they love taking in injured and abused animals... like if animals all of a sudden stopped getting injured or at least stopped getting abused: pretty sure they wouldn't think something like "why aren't animals getting abused anymore? I need me animals to rescue!!!!!!!" No loving, kind and healthy human would think like that, at least not much that it counts.
Whereas something like cuddling, hanging out with friends or playing with one's beloved pets, if something like that ceased to exist, they would likely yearn for it. So I think that would be love. Now would someone do something as a job that they so claim to love? I think some would for whatever reasons they may or may not have for it. Perhaps because it allows them to actually free up their time and or earn some money that they could use. Like if they can't or don't want to get a(nother) job or gig that isn't cuddling. Maybe some wouldn't because they don't want something they really enjoy to become their job. Or feel like one or for whatever other reasons. Similarly could be said about say teachers who say they love teaching.
@Lovelight the “spoiler” was a miss. But funny! I belly laughed at that one 🤗 Actually, they do love taking in those animals. They love taking them in because they attempt to help them any way they can. What they don’t love is what’s happened to them. They also don’t love if somebody decides to leave their animal on the side of the road. They would love for that person to bring the animal to them instead. 😑😂
@oxygenjunkee Sure, some animals end up being beyond help and get euthanized. But a true rescue, not an SPCA, actually have vets that will do surgeries. Obviously with animals in these situations, many injuries are unrecoverable even with surgery.
@DeadGirlWalking a sex worker? 🤣 Um, first of all 99.9% of sex workers do it illegally. And I can guarantee you that just about all of them do it for drugs or money. Why were sex workers even brought up? 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for participating everyone! I do love seeing the different perspectives on this subject. All I ask is that you all try not to think too much into the “reason” I asked the question. It’s irellevent and should not being making anyone defensive. Happy Friday Eve!
