Cuddling in the News

Great news station coverage of a fantastic platonic cuddle service in Asheville NC whose organizer is also an amazing cuddler here, but probably too humble to post about it herself. https://wlos.com/news/local/asheville-business-hopes-to-help-others-with-a-little-cuddling-hold-me-avl

Great job @HoldMeAVL!

  • Yay!! How cool is that?! 🤗

  • That is awesome!! Love it !

  • I really enjoyed seeing a professional cuddler on the last season of the bachelorette, which garners millions of viewers.

It's really becoming much more mainstream.

  • Glad to see that it's becoming more out there in the media. The population will get educated on what professional cuddling is and make it more acceptable. I didn't know anything about it until I gogled a few things on my computer and this came up.

This is great! Glad to see good cuddle biz publicity. From this post, I actually went down a rabbit hole reading about (because her business offers this) sensual cuddle parties. Sometimes called Sacred Snuggle parties and Tantric Second base snuggle parties. I'm not sure what I think about that. Maybe a topic for another post.

  • "Tantric Second base snuggle parties". Def seems a bit more than just platonic, lol.

  • [Deleted User]Moxytocin (deleted user)

@MrMarkAndrew Exactly. It's next level. Second base, in fact. Lol

  • Having something like that advertised publicly by someone who also offers platonic cuddling may muddy the waters in people's minds in terms of what is offered on this website.

  • @Protector thanks for posting this, I'm really glad to see these kind of things.

@JoyfulHeart ~ I agree and disagree. Could blur, but think that their offering of both would help to illuminate some stark contrasts.

Also, I'm inclined to believe that any services offered beyond a platonic cuddle are done as a facilitator or guide for others, rather than as a co-participant. Otherwise, they'd probably be forced to close up shop in an instant.

But it could be they're licensed as a sex therapist &/or sex surrogate too and it's quite a hands-on and fully legal enterprise.

Either which way though, my guess is the differences in price points alone would help clarify what one is signing up for and could expect to receive.

and now to go investigate these presumptions of mine... update/revisions to thoughts tbd...

Okay, so I read through the Sensual Cuddles offered and it is Waaaay less 'sexy'/'no-no' than I was thinking it might be (clearly a gutter punk trash panda has taken up residence with my mental squirrels!!)

Anyway, I think it sounds like a great idea for those ready to explore such things. Personally, I'm just barely coming to terms with liking group cuddles (I honestly didn't think I would and was soooo nervous - but it was really fun)... So who knows. Maybe one day I'll be searching for tickets to Ashville...

    Another tbd for me... 🤷‍♀️

@quixotic_life "Sacred Snuggle Party: A Tantric Second-Base Love Puddle" is a bit less tame than that one. Lol

  • @Moxytocin ~ I suppose so... But it's still a "pants on" affair with no substances or sticky situations to worry about...

Could be I'm a bit less concerned about what a group of consenting adults get up to, especially when their not trying to hide the potential of things getting intense, because the likelihood of my ever participating in such a thing is next to non-existent on an infinite scale.

  • [Deleted User]Moxytocin (deleted user)

@quixotic_life I'm with you on that. I'm not as much concerned as fascinated but t's just the clause in CC TOS would make me a little nervous about all of this as a pro. "Members or professional cuddlers attempting to solicit or offer non-platonic services (i.e. fetish related, sexual services, etc.) through Cuddle Comfort, or found to be offering these services outside of this website, will be banned." There's a pretty prominent pro cuddler with a YouTube channel who now is a sexual surrogate (Janet Trevino). Another one Jean Franzblau used to be a BDSM educator and now is a movie/TV sex scene consultant. I feel like things are blurred everywhere.

  • @Moxytocin To be fair to @HoldMeAVL and going by the TOS you just posted here she does not offer or solicit the sensual services here or on her website. She also has an intake form that all prospective clients have to fill out that spells out very clearly that her services are not sexual in nature and there will be zero tolerance for sexual advances.
Also a code of ethics is posted on her website further explaining this.
So she is not going against TOS here and the sensual cuddle party is an event to which consensual adults purchase a ticket and get together, it is not a service being offered by her.
Janet Trevino is not here and I’ve seen a lot of her YouTube videos and she is still offering platonic cuddling services on top of being now a surrogate which from watching her videos she doesn’t do willy nilly, there’s a therapist involved and everything.
I don’t know Jean Franzblau but I remember before the pandemic we had an porn actress offering her cuddle services here.

My point is I don’t think lines are being blurred, @HoldMeAVL didn't ask to be a part of this thread and she is doing nothing improper. We’re all adults and we know where the lines are so if somebody wants to cross those lines is on them.

Also this post was about how cuddling is becoming more mainstream, that’s all
Personally I was thinking that was a good thing except that with cuddling being more and more mainstream will also bring the bad actors, the ones that will not care about blurring the lines at all.

  • wow- I had no idea I was the topic of a threat till a friend mentioned it today.
    Thanks for the positive feedback.
To be clear- yes- I host sensual space events. I as the facilitator keep strong boundaries for myself and do not participate more then platonically with participants. I do not want to muddy my one-on-one sessions BC I have clients that come to these events. I am providing a safe place for people to use/practice verbal consent, ask for what they want, express boundaries, and enjoy connecting with others.
These events have nothing to do with CC. I do NOT offer sensual cuddle sessions on here or in my private practice. I am professional and have a code of ethics on my webpage and have all clients fill out and sign a client intake form which reiterates that all clothing stays on and that everything we do will be platonic and confidential.
