If you could go anywhere where would you go why wouldn't you go and if you could bring one person who would it be and why
The moon, because I don't have the equipment to get up there and back, and my dad because I think he'd love the experience in part because of his love of A Grand Day Out.
If I am safe I would want to visit an alien civilisation. I wouldn't go because I would probably die.
For anything realistic and without a guarantee of safety I would like to try living in Amsterdam. I wouldn't go because I have things going on where I live currently.
Japan is also an option for me. Same reason for not going.
As to who I would bring I don't know. I would need to talk to people to see how they feel.
I would like to go to Hawaii, not to see there beaches but to go to the Arizona Memorial and see it in person. And if I could I would take my favorite cuddlier with me. I’m hoping to make the 1st come true if this Covid mess ever goes away. I know the 2nd one would never happen. I have been in 35 states in the US and some I hope to never go to again. Alaska would be my 2nd choice

I would go back in time to the small farm that I grew up on in Northern California. It was a great way and place to grow up. Animals, friendly small town, sports, chores and freedom to explore the town. I would take two of my grandkids to let them see life before the internet and so much technology.
If I could go anywhere I would go to Nigeria. I met some people from there and it sounds absolutely amazing and beautiful. I would bring my roommate because we love travelling together.
I would love to go to the Swiss Alps. I love the beautiful scenery there and I am not sure whom I would take with me.
@ShySnuggler @Conecticut1977 just go. Start planning your trip for some appropriate time in 2023. What's stopping you? What's that .... oh, yeah, I see that's a problem. But hey, there is always a way.
Once upon a time I was in India, and I fell in with some new friends who were also travelling there. We were all going to the Taj Mahal. The father of one of them joined us there. It was his lifelong dream to see the Taj Mahal, and it was a true lifelong dream. He'd never been for all the usual reasons, but the chief reason was that his wife hated travelling in general and abroad in particular and couldn't imagine anything worse than going to India. This was an insurmountable obstacle until one day his daughter (my new friend) had said to him, "Well just come and meet up with us while we're there. If mum doesn't want to come, she can stay at home or go somewhere else with her friend Edith."
The man was at first appalled by this suggestion. He loved his wife, and the idea of going on holiday without her seemed tantamount to asking for a divorce. But eventually he said, "Darling, it's just an idea, but you know I'd love to see the Taj Mahal. Would you mind if I went without you?" And the wife said no of course not, you've always wanted to do that. I'll go to Brighton for a few days with Edith.
So they did. The Taj Mahal was even more magnificent than he had imagined (it really is) and Edith enjoyed every moment of her trip to Brighton. And they all lived happily ever after.

It's not possible but I would go to Israel, Japan and France. I would take my Mom and an Interpreter.

Idaho & I have no idea why, always had an intuition to go visit Idaho Atleast once lol & I don’t know who would want to go to there, this would be a hard sell lol

I would like to return to Schilpario, the small mountain village in northern Italy where my grandmother was born. I went there and met wonderful people, I’d like to go back. I miss them.

I have travelled so much and not managed to make it to Fenway Park. I love baseball. I think this year is the year.

Right at the top of my list is any place where anyone who wants to live has a right to life: someplace where everyone has food to eat, clothes to wear, safety from weather, and access to medical treatment whenever they need it, no matter what.
I wouldn't go if I couldn't read there, or do personal projects, or have time to myself. And it's not that I'd want to leave, but if I couldn't leave, that would be disconcerting and I might not go.
I'd take my partner, of course. I kinda love him. If he wasn't with me, there'd be no point in going.

I've been to places where I didn't speak a word of the language and nobody spoke a word of English. It's fine, you manage. It's amazing how much communication you can achieve with a smile and a bit of hand-waving. If you have a phrase book for the key words, you're golden. And in the modern world, with google translate on your phone ..... The places you mention all have large numbers of people who speak at least some English.

(Seriously, though: those Scandinavian countries seem to have a lot of stuff figured out. Imperfect they may be, but given my current location....)
You mean like Sweden that took the approach of no lockdowns during Covid and endured exponentially higher death rates than other European countries?
@FunCartel: That, Sweden obviously didn't have figured out. 1821 Covid deaths per million is still better than 2965 per million, though. Wild, isn't it? It's almost like I live someplace really sucky.
Norway, now! 509 deaths per million. Not bad, comparatively speaking.

The high taxes are necessary to subsidize the standard of living in the Scandinavian countries. There’s not a huge population base to tax from there.
Seems like everything is exceptionally expensive in Norway, especially groceries. Bread was outrageous along with dairy, mostly because they have to import much of their food.
I went to sweden a couple months ago. I fell in love and want to move there. I went to visit some friends that live there and they want me to live there too. Its so tough aahhh
A lot of places in Europe seem much better than North America in many ways.
The Amazon rainforest. I'd go with a very skilled and knowledgeable local guide who knows what to do and where to go if something goes wrong.
