Mother's Day

  • I’ll be celebrating with my mom and family. My mom had 7 kids, 6 girls 1 boy. We always have a good time. I’m also the mom to 2 daughters 18 and 21. I’d love to be with them on Mother’s Day, but it doesn’t always work out and it’s quite okay. It will be a great day! I hope all of you moms have a great day. 💐

  • @Saysoh my condolences
I cannot imagine the pain of losing one of my parents, I try to always be on good terms with them, specifically because I know I won't have them forever.

I will most likely take my mom out to dinner and maybe get her some flowers... it is the easiest choice since she's not good at accepting or appreciating gifts... but she loves to dine out and I try to reserve that for special occasions, plus, by dining out I'll be treating myself for mothers day with my little family.

It’s a form of grief I have actually yet to understand. I mean I hope not, but it is largely inevitable. My condolences and I hope the life she lived continues to positively inspire.

  • Hi there, my dear @Green_Eyes and everyone else,
Since I can't be physically with my mother I'm sending her some flowers and a gift basket, and tell her that I'll be taking my daughter, her only grandchild, to visit her in the summer, after 3-year hiatus.

I apologize for being a d1ck that night on the forums. It's not so easy for my entire family this time of year. I was writing that night and when I do, I allow myself to go to those places of frustration of a misunderstanding influenced by the responsibility of now being one of the elders of a traditional family when my perspectives don't align with traditional. Not looking for sympathy and condolences, but sometimes wanting to call someone no longer around at early stages gets in your head, but I don't regret it at all. It's just what I'm supposed to go through.

  • Not exactly mourning, but definitely missing my mother this Mother's Day. I lost her just a few years ago and it's been rough. I lost my Dad and my four siblings before her, she was the last member of my immediate family and the only one of us (thus far) to live to a normal old age (knocking wood & crossing fingers).
Please cherish your parents, it's all too easy to take them for granted. I really miss my Mom and Dad and now I feel like an orphan even in my old (well, older!) age.
