Is it safe to cuddle now? I'm assuming you need to show proof that you're fully vaccinated.
That's up to each individual. A lot of people state on their profile whether they are vaccinated or not, and if they require the same, or not. I've seen one person say you don't have to be vaccinated but then you'll have to wear a mask. Others don't seem too worried about it.

Sorry but we do not allow COVID misinformation. - Babichev
Nearly 6.5 million deaths is pretty bad in my book.
@Btown Wow! I did not realize it was so many. I had not kept apprised. Before this year I stayed on my family about not coming around me if they had been in any group situation without a mask. I knew a woman in the hospital for 7 weeks with covid. She is fine now. Most of the people I know that got covid did not adjust their lifestyle for it.
Okie dokie then
I hated wearing a mask. Too hard to breathe when you have asthma, even tho some docs say otherwise. I mostly just stayed home for 2 years. Except for an undiagnosed upper respiratory infection this January, I have not had any communicable diseases in years. I was glad to have the luxury of staying home and avoiding people.
Hmmm, no mods on duty today.
Question: Is it safe to cuddle now? 🤔
Can you please elaborate a bit … not sure if you’re asking for professional medical advice / or just a random yes or no before you proceed / or a bit of pot stirring …
In the meantime I’ll check with dr. Fauci, (will check different online or published sources to see if he has any expert advice on cuddling & covid safety … brb.
The pandemic never made a difference for me in terms of cuddling, except the first couple of months when I still wasn't sure. My first actual cuddle since the start of covid was in June 2020. I don't cuddle people that require proof of vaccination or a negative covid test, or people who practice mask wearing while cuddling.
Please note: it is the policy of Cuddle Comfort not to allow the posting of COVID misinformation. We accept what is known through science and the recommendations of the CDC and similar bodies. Misinformation will be removed and if it is done repeatedly those posting it will be put in forum time out. If the thread goes off the rails, it will be closed. If you don’t want that to happen, keep it civilized, on topic, and science-based.
The question posed in the OP cannot be answered. One has to weigh the various risks and decide for yourself whether they are worth it or not.
Regarding mask wearing: I have asthma. I used to work in construction and often had to wear a respirator, which takes more effort to breathe, for 7 hours a day and this was while I was recovering from pneumonia. You can breathe with a mask, the problem is psychological if you think you can’t. Lots of people - surgeons, many health care workers, construction workers, and others - wear masks and respirators every day for hours at a time. If you can walk up a flight of stairs you can wear a mask.
Every person needs to decide for themselves how much caution they want to exercise. Because of my age, having asthma, and being very vulnerable to respiratory infections (I get them easily and get really sick from them) I’ve been very cautious.
The site has no policy on “safe” cuddling in this regard, it is up to the individuals to decide for themselves. Stay informed. Do what you need to do to protect yourself. Respect that others around you may feel a need to be more cautious than you.
Interesting. And I may have other psychological problems too. I forgot to say earlier I had another luxury during covid. I got to be outside some when asthma and allergies did not debilitate me to help clean up my uncle's property to sell. I cut many small limbs. I was grateful for those days. Especially cause I met the great neighbor across the street and he would chat with me without getting too close.
I have one rule now. No cuddles unless you are fully vaxxed and/or boosted up. Don’t be afraid to ask if the cilent/cuddler is vax friendly and don’g be afraid to be safe and hygienic! ❤️
Boo... once again I missed the fun...
I would still exercise a lot of caution, personally, I am vaccinated and boosted but the variants going around now are highly contagious and some evade immunity. I'm diabetic so I have to be very careful.
@ProjectM @ WriterGF. Yep.
I am not as vigilant as I was. I can't say I recommend that. Covid is down in Tennessee, but if I get sick, even with a bad cold or stomach virus, I won't care what even the most informed statistics are. I finally had to start thinking about my mental health more than covid. Not joking. I really may have psychological problems (have thought it was possible even before covid).
@quixotic_life I love to laugh and I'm so glad you wrote that. Lol.

According to the WHO, it may actually be as many as 15 million associated deaths — they may not all be directly from infection, but they were in excess of what would normally be expected.
It is also not all about you. The purpose of the precautions is to protect those around you and those most at risk. Of particular concern is the newer variants are reaching into the younger population. I would not want to consider that I gave it to a five year old because a mask was too inconvenient or a statement of my “personal freedom”. Children do not have a choice and have little to no freedom and depend on adults to protect them.
My flight home last night consisted of 173 passengers and 12 of us were wearing masks and we were packed in like sardines. When this new variant hits it will spread like fire on a gas spill—despite what the theorists, armchair physicians and science deniers say.
I'm afraid of that.
I would choose to take the calculated risk. I would never ask anybody to be vaccinated to cuddle me. Misinformation redacted. - Babichev
You don’t shed from the vaccine—total nonsense. You have to have Covid to shed and that is not what the vaccine is.
@FunCartel ~ What the hay?! Another "new" varient?!! I saw the concerns related to a lack of funding leading to a lack of available vaccines then leading to a surge of cases in the fall & winter so there's new efforts to deal with that. But nothing on a new one to be concerned with. Can you share a link??
So thankful I still wear a mask when out and about, even though many others aren't ~ sheesh!!
I just tested positive today so don't cuddle me 😫 so tired of this pandemic
BA.2 is the subvariant of the original Omicron and is several times more contagious than Omicron. A few isolated cases are already here and they expect spikes in summer and fall this year. It is why China is currently shut down. Just check the CDC website, The Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins etc and you will see plenty on it.
@KozyKim Makes sense to me. My idea of less vigilant is to go somewhere besides my parents, the library or the grocery. And there are still plenty of individuals I avoid cause I know they don't understand how virus is spread and are just not careful in general.
I know a few people who were disappointed that I didn't visit them during the worst two years of covid but I didn't want to spread my germs anymore than I wanted to take a chance on theirs. And I didn't want to bet anyone's health on a mask when we could just avoid a visit and talk on the phone. None of it was easy decisions. I'm just glad I had some options.
@CozyWolfy Dont feel bad, over 60% of Americans have been infected by Covid now to some degree or another. Only now, over 85% of the deaths are non-vaccinated. Unfortunately, children under 6 fall into the unvaccinated territory.
@CozyWolfy So sorry to hear that. I wasn't even thinking about someone here posting they had it right now. I am bummed for you. I hope it's a short mild bout.
@quixotic_life In addition, there are new, more contagious variants, that have popped up in South Africa and haven't made it to EU and US yet. But they will. The big fear is that at some point we will get a variant that combines the lethality of delta with the immunity-evasive properties of the omicron variant. Unfortunately, people have treated this all along like it's an episode of ER -- they want it to be over, they're bored with it, so they just pretend it's done. Where I live, new cases have gone from 1% to 10% in the span of two weeks.
Ya.. im triple vaccinated.. worried about my kids though who arnt.. my jobs a cespool of covid germs and people who don't care one bit about spreading it unfortunately
@CozyWolfy It doesn't help you if I say I hate this, but I do. I'm triple vaccinated too, but I've assumed that means nothing to be on the safe side. My thoughts will be with you; I can't wait til you say you are well and you think your family will be OK.
