@HogboblinZwei 💯
I have a horse in this race but I just want to appreciate the sick burns from @FunCartel.
Projecting ex husband troubles on some person one barely knows is weird, silly and a but much.
@MCcuddles2 🙏
“Genuine love is rarely an emotional space where needs are instantly gratified. To know genuine love we have to invest time and commitment. As John Welwood reminds us in Journey of the Heart: The Path of Conscious Love, ‘dreaming that love will save us, solve all our problems or provide a steady state of bliss or security only keeps us stuck in wishful fantasy, undermining the real power of the love which is to transform us.’ Many people want love to function like a drug, giving them an immediate and sustained high. They want to do nothing, just passively receive the good feeling. In patriarchal culture men are especially inclined to see love as something they should receive without expending effort. More often than not they do not want to do the work that love demands. When the practice of love invites us to enter a place of potential bliss that is at the same time a place of critical awakening and pain, many of us turn our backs on love.” bell hooks from “All About Love”
Holy scheiss to throw " starter husband " at someone is pretty immature and inappropriate.
@PeopleLikeUs, I apologize for my role in derailing your thread. I will not continue to engage in off topic discussion. Thanks for bringing this up, it's hard out there for good men but change is coming ❤️
I'm a little perplexed. I am not up to speed on the character of SincereGenuine. It seems his character alone got his original post on Men's Liberation deleted because the post itself appeared innocuous. I see he has also been banned.
It's disheartening that this all occurred around the subject of Men's Liberation. The term itself has taken on negative connotations for good reason. Men (and many women) are at such odds over these types of discussions that cancel culture and conflict arrives in full force.
I believe that people see issues with our gender culture, in this case as it pertains to men, yet to engage in constructive dialog around this is hard even in a place like Cuddle Comfort.
I don't think it really had to do with men's liberation, it had to do with the person who brought it up. Which is unfortunate. I do hope we can get back to this topic at some point. It's important.
@PeopleLikeUs the original post was a stalking horse. The OP knew if he posted what he really wanted to say it would be shut down immediately, so he posted something relatively innocuous, as you put it, in the hope that the thread would get started, lead to an argument that he technically didn't start, and then he could say what he really wanted to say. Fortunately, the mods are smarter than him. He had previously made a number of problematic posts.
As is clear from the continuing existence of this thread, there is no problem with the topic as long as it is discussed reasonably.
