Albert Einstein famously slept 10 hours a day everyday ….. do you try to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep / less than 8 or more than 8?
I usually sleep eight hours a night. Not always, but usually.
try for 8 hours usually between 6 am to 2 pm. But there are some days I run on short broken up sleep or when I do a night/day time flip.
@Mela_B anything less than 8 for me & I feel off …
@KYtransplant i get that, that was me yesterday, but at minimum I need 6 hours or I can’t function 😴
Ok, I guess everybody else is asleep 😂😅😂
@cuddles_ndream not us night owls!!
Although I will probably regret it when my alarm goes off at seven am. I have things to do during normal people hours.
That aside, last week I had five straight nights of overnight cuddles. Forgot how good I can sleep with another trusted person.
@KYtransplant you just reminded me to set my alarms to off for tomorrow, I don’t have to work tomorrow (technically today), & when I don’, I like to sleep until my body & mind naturally wants to wake up …
Lol @ “during normal people hours” 😅 I get that as well! Don’t remember the last time I saw the sunrise 🌄 or heard the birds chirping early in the morning.
Yes
Now I usually wake up automatically at around six hours of sleep.
@FectionKitty thats pretty interesting, I know some people (in the older crowd) who don’t need an alarm clock at all to wake up at a certain time, say they need to wake up 7am in the morning , they’re able to do it without an alarm … this is an amazing skill! & I wish I had it.
I'm lucky to get 4 or 5 solid hrs.
Same here
I usually get somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6, including waking up a few times a night.
4-6.. if I don't have to get up for work, 6-7
I try for 7-8. If I get more, it's hard to wake up the next day. If I get less, I get really tired the next evening.
But Friday, Saturday and Sunday I could lie in bed and sleep all day
Not nearly enough lol. I make up for it on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
I get about 4 per 24 hours. Never all at once. Usually 3 around sunrise, and an hour nap in the afternoon.
I can usually manage about 6-7 hours or so. Work usually wipes me out heh.
@GoodRightHook Oh man, I used to have exactly that schedule...not naturally, but self-imposed, as I resented all the free time that sleep took from me. I sustained it for quite a long time, but felt like I was living underwater.

I get about 5 hrs because I stay up as late as possible - I like the quiet alone time after everyone else is asleep. And then it takes me a while to fall asleep so I always put in earbuds with something playing like meditation music, nature sounds, hypnotism, or a podcast or Tedtalk with the volume set really low.
Me: “Let me sleep” – Brain: “lol, no, let’s stay awake and remember every stupid decision you made in your life.”- Me:”Okay”
@Gabriel2k 🤣😆😝
I’m like @FectionKitty , I just naturally wake up around 6 AM regardless of when I went to sleep. Last night I probably fell asleep around 2 and I woke up right around 7 AM. 🤷🏻♂️
@Gabriel2k lol 😂
6, on average, I think
My thoughts on sleep the past month...
@SunsetSnuggles i love the memes 😅 💯 lol
The memes are hilarious and I really relate to the last one. I generally sleep eight. Nine or more if I keep waking up. I have a most uncooperative body. Lol. I never take it for granted that I have time to be generally well-rested.
I usually get between six and seven on work nights. On non work days I get around 7-11 depending on how long I happen to sleep.
My job doesn't allow me to sleep a full eight hours during the week. I crash on the Saturdays I don't have to work. Sundays I'm just like, "wtf do I do?" Sleep in not in my vocabulary.
