How come no famous people cuddle?

  • Because famous people are weird

I would like to be paid to cuddle famous people, not because I'm starstruck but because I imagine they may be lonely, and having someone cuddle them who's not gushing or asking anything of them would give them great comfort. In my limited experience with traveling and performing in front of crowds of people who feel they know me when I don't know them -- and I don't relate to any of them on an intimate level -- I can say that it can be lonely. I can only imagine that loneliness is magnified for people who travel much more and are much more famous. I've spent most of my adult life as an interpreter, keeping my clients' confidence, so I would be happy to cuddle famous people and treat them like people, not celebrities, not ask for selfies or autographs, not talk about their work unless they wanted to, and not tell anyone who they were, what they told me, or what we did together. Thank you, @thecolorjade , for describing how you did that!

  • @nurturingman Are you an ASL interpreter?

  • Ok SOOOO funny story, though, on the flip side of the coin. How come famous people don't seek out cuddlers? I went to a comedy show recently for a queer comedienne. She was HILARIOUS!! Seriously, so good at her profession. She admitted how unfulfilled she was with her relationships because she really wanted intimacy without the sexual relations, but didn't know how to ask for it. Albeit, this is slightly anti-climactic, (for the time being), but I reached out to her to offer my services via DM and commented on a few of her posts. I ALSO emailed her so, we'll see if there's a response one day. One day, everyone, celebrity or not, will be empowered to ask for the touch they need.

    Amen!

Oh, and I don't know the story behind this, but I'm intrigued by this video of a man cuddling Joe Jonas on a sofa. I'd like to do for famous people what that man seems to be doing— being there for them and making platonic touch available to them.

Yeah, great thread topic. Kate (Beckinsale), why haven't you messaged me?

  • @Snuggluffagus She's in bed with me right now, her hair is delightful.

Foiled again by those meddling kids!

Tell her I said hi and I'm done with her! She had her chance!

  • Some high profile people don't use their photo in their profile and they ask people who cuddle with them to be discrete when leaving Karma.

  • Who said I'm not famous... 👀

I've always thought that it must be dehumanizing and lonely to be a a celebrity.

You wouldn't know who to trust or who genuinely likes you. All interactions would be tainted by that.

It would be dehumanizing as you would be treated like a spectacle by the public instead of a thinking, feeling, fallible human being.

  • I'm sure they do, with each other.

Oh gawd, don’t get me started on security people. Depending on who the celebrity is and their status, some of them may also work as bouncers. They are known to beat both fans and Paparazzi up. And there would be no grounds to prosecute or sue them if you get hurt or if your property like your expensive camera gets destroyed.

Cuddling a celebrity isn’t worth risking my safety. I’ll stick with non-celebrities.
