Good luck getting the mods to respond to you after you report someone 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is ridiculous. Last week someone left me a fraudulent negative review. I reported it and provided a screenshot for proof, but I have received no response. This is ridiculous. I also reported that same person a little while back for sending me inappropriate messages and nothing has been done about that. I’m seething. Rant over.

Edit: that review has since been deleted (by the person who left it), but I thought it would still be a good idea to report it.

  • Yeah, there aren't a whole lot of them, and they aren't paid. They do what they can... I think. It's not bad for volunteer work.

  • I’m sorry, I hope they are able to take action soon.

    On the bright side, you seem to have 5 stars full of wonderful karma, and you aren't even a pro! Frankly, why worry?

  • Unfortunately, there are only one or two mods left. I'm sorry that happened to you, and glad they deleted it.

  • Is anything being done to recruit more moderators?

    Yes, we intend to add new moderators to the team.

    Our volenteer moderators are doing an incredible job. Particularly with the recent wave of scammers.

    It's important to know that many reports do not lead to punitive action because the confidence threshold for banning is sometimes not met. But a lack of apparent response doesn't mean your effort was wasted. They get tagged against the suspect's account and can therefore contribute to a ban later on.

    Thank you for all that you and the moderators do. I know that moderation of a forum is not a trivial task.

  • @Mark you aren’t kidding about the scammers! It’s really getting absurd.

    @MrMarkAndrew the site recently got alot of exposure in the past several weeks, and while yes, that is a good thing as it brings more awareness to the community & more members, at the same time it also brings the not so good crowd… a key reason why its best not to take CC mainstream & keep it more “word of mouth” or finding it by seeking it.

  • @Emerald20772 I am sorry you have had a negative experience, though I’m grateful it was ultimately resolved.

    Huge thanks to the the mods who volunteer their time and energy to maintain and improve the amazing community we get to enjoy here. Your continued efforts and support are valued and appreciated. 💜

  • @cuddles_ndream Yep.

    Hopefully Bambina and her human @Babichev are getting plenty of cuddles while all this moderating is going on. I would not be a moderator even for pay. And this is only partly because I would not be good at it. Lol.

  • FWIW I had an incident of fraudulent karma and it was removed pretty quickly after I reported it.

  • @achetocuddle - Bambina is well and her human companion is doing well enough but tired. Cuddling delayed tonight because somebody peed on the bed last night.

    Some reports are handled literally within minutes, others take days. And if warnings are issued, you won’t hear about it. It depends on a variety of factors - who is or is not online and when. And how many reports there are and their nature.

    I would love to be a moderator.
    If someone could point me in the general direction of what form to fill out to apply, that would be appreciated.

    I think I’d rather cross check records for people than be a pro cuddler right now.

  • Welcome back @simsaddict good to see you.

  • While it's not being promoted right now, the moderator nomination form is still active and will continue to be referenced.

    It's designed for nominating someone else but people can nominate themselves too.

    I would report a cuddler I know too but I'd be the one to get the heat Im sure. And cc also wont answer when they owe ya money but they love getting ours

  • @Rachelsnuggles if you unmute your account I'd like to send you a private messge.

  • @simsaddict you would be an incredible mod!!!

  • I've had very good experience with unfair or fraudulent comments and even when a report is submitted in which the conditions are not met, they provide the feedback. Please let's not be so demanding with what may be the best website of its kind in the entire world.

    @Shake49 thank you!
    To be honest, I only know KY laws like the back of my hand and state by state varies but U.S. laws are generalized across the board so Cyber Security is quite simple here in the U.S. in it’s consistency.

  • I just can't get my head around why someone would want to do that :'(

    I'm soft-closing this thread now (you can still reply). We have all been able to address the views of the OP and I personally feel it's an injustice for this title to remain indefinitely bumped in the list.

    I want to emphasise again that the moderators are volunteers from the community. If you could see what they deal with behind the scenes, the critical minority in this thread would likely appreciate the incredible job they do.

    If you feel this website can do better on this, then please have someone nominate you as a moderator for our consideration. Or even nominate yourself, it will still be considered.

    @Mark

    I appreciate your response. It really means a lot. I will definitely consider becoming a moderator. We all deserve to feel safe on here, and I want to ensure that people with poor intentions don’t disturb those of us who want wholesome cuddle time and friendships. I do apologize for my angry words in this post.
