Tinder is not a hookup site in London. (Or rather, not only a hookup site.) Lots of people looking for serious relationships. I've met some really nice people from Tinder.
@Annichka I absolutely get what you are feeling, in fact that's exactly where I am at the moment. May I suggest Bumble? You will have to send the first message, and that will make a difference.
@ShyShyMe Tinder has only served to reaffirm or add new insecurities for me. But perhaps that’s my fault - I’ve been told time and over how important confidence is, so there is no room for men with insecurities in the world of dating, I guess.
@sunnysideup - I decided to call off trying to date and focus on other goals instead. That way I can't be hurt. Women can be so unpredictable. They act like they're in love with you one day then suddenly dump you the next.

I once dated a girl for about 6 months. Everything was going good then one day she sends me text saying she doesn't want to see me anymore then quits talking to me. No explanation or anything.
@Mike403 I’ve never dated anyone ever, but when dates fizzle out or they say they don’t want to see me again, I sometimes ask for a reason. The answer is usually deflective so it didn’t tell me anything, but one of my dates told me straight up that I was a great guy but lacking in confidence. And another made comments about my lack of confidence but also told me I was great.
