I try not to force anything so we can naturally fall into each other or snuggle into each other but I am a giver so I love to hold someone tight and feel their stress just dissapear.
Now that I think about it, I'm a lot like @taminator
@achetocuddle everybody should be like me lol😜😉
Is the Heimlich a cuddle position?
@Btown you're cracking me up man!
Regarding the original question, is there even a bad position? I don't think so
@taminator I believe I agree! Lol.
@22cuddle I know that's right.
Well depends on who I'm cuddling with but given the nature of this site I'm going to assume you're only interested in Platonic cuddles and keep my preferred romantic positions to myself.
So anyway... I haven't actually had much platonic experience but I think the most comfortable positions would either be spooning with her behind me or facing each other like a long extended hug.
Sitting together can work too but not really my favorite just because I think it's harder to find a comfortable position that way. Most of the more comfortable sitting on a couch together poses tend to either be a bit more into the romantic category and the ones that are more platonic tend to be harder to maintain for long periods of time due to body pain.
Laying down you would think would be harder to keep things platonic but since it's easier to relax laying down than sitting up it's also easier to get comfortable in a position that doesn't feel inherently romantic.
That's just me though cause I'm factoring in both what's going to be the easiest for me to keep it platonic and what's going to be easiest on my body with the constant pain I suffer with. Also while I'm trying to sleep, and the fact that I tend to sleep on my side anyway, is when I most want to cuddle... there was even a time when I imagined someone was in bed with me just holding me and I just laid there not wanting to move cause I knew I was alone and I was afraid the moment I moved the feeling that someone was there with me would go away.
@Mela_B lol FELT. I guess Ima have to Google shit too.
I meant @Saysoh sorry, I @ the wrong person.
I'm not sure what it's called but where we are laying down facing each other, the other person resting their head in my chest/neck area, arms around each other, sometimes playing with hair while doing this, Also being the big spoon, or having them lay on me like a weighted blanked/draped (not sure what to call this.). Although I love trying all sorts of ones, even ones I never heard or of knew about. There was one I saw on youtube I wanted to try but I forgot the name of it.
I love many positions, naturally go into mouse a lot, and do lots of flowing naturally over the course of time with someone but my favorite to suggest:
For receiving, I love being the luxury in lap of luxury, though it's been a long time since I've had a good lap for it. 😇
For giving, I also love providing the lap, though so many clients love receiving picnic, so I've developed a real enjoyment for giving that position as well (it's not personally one I much enjoy receiving 🤷♀️).
I, too, am not up to speed on what all the cuddle positions are called. ("Is THAT what the kids call this one?" )
I usually let my cuddle partner lead, as I have a tendency to want them to be as comfortable as possible, and I've yet to find a cuddle position I didn't like.
I saw the weighted Blanket thing in a YouTube Video before I came in here actually... it actually didn't look that fun... I mean he's a lot larger than she was so realistically that would mean all of his body weight would be on top of her. That could be fun the other way around if the smaller person with less body weight is the one on top but you don't want to put the put the smallest person on the bottom cause SQUISH!
Also there was a LITERAL weighted blanket involved which I didn't know was a thing that existed. I have no idea how much their weigh but that means she had the actual weighted blanket plus an entire man twice her size on top of her... that's too much weight!
It's a good thing that was a comic and not something anyone actually did, cute idea I don't think would actually be practical. Unless again flip it around, lighter weight goes on top, heavy weight goes on bottom. Unless you're not literally putting all your weight on the bottom person but the whole "weighted blanket" thing just makes me think go limp and put your entire body weight on the person you're laying on. Shifting body weight so the pressure points aren't all directly on the actual person it doesn't matter who's on top. I wouldn't mind having someone lay on me, especially if I'm face down and she's heavy enough to pop my back but not enough to actually hurt me.
@CuddleForDID professionals typically will know how to do that position without putting 100% of their weight on the person on the bottom. I have quite a few clients who that's one of their favorites and do it every session. 😊
Honeymoon
@CuddleForDID ~ Just prior to learning of this site, I was telling my cousin how I wanted to find a 400+ pound lumberjack sort to lay on top of me ~ Where I'd be laying face down on a yoga mat or something else padded but firm, and he'd make his limbs line-up with mine. Then after 45 minutes or so, he'd get up and go... I imagined it would feel like the weight of the world had litterally be lifted from off my back and shoulders. Bliss...
My cousin replied with, "You sound touch starved. Have you heard of CuddleComfort? Maybe you could find a platonic someone to crush you for a bit."
I'm still waiting for my lumbering lumberjack, or for one of my cuddle buddies to fully dead weight on me... but I'm also happy to suffer through only having cuddles until then (if ever). I mean..., if I have to... 😉
I need to learn a bunch of cuddling positions it sounds like. 😊
@taminator i would like to get in on those cuddles ☺️
Naturally I enjoy being the big spoon and lap of luxury. I like taking on the nurturing role.
When talking, tangled. When showing appreciation, digging face into neck or shoulder (either way, whoever is showing appreciation is the one with the face, the appreciated has a shoulder. I mean, hopefully everyone in the cuddle has both, but you know what I mean), it's like punctuation or a non-verbal "I like what you said") When sleeping, back to back with pressure.
