I don't have any, but a woman and 2 dogs in Pico Rivera, California were found dead from electrical trauma due to lightning today. This is so sad and almost unbelievable.
Have any of you had an experience with lightning?
That is soo sad! & what are the chances?! ….. I never had any close call personally, but one of my sis coconut trees in Florida was struck by lighting, she didn’t see it happen but when she walked outside she noticed that all the coconuts for that particular tree were on the ground & all the branches were layed flat, and she was told that lighting had struck it & had to get the tree removed.
I saw that 😳 Lightening and thunder are so rare in these parts, the natives think it's a rare and coveted ambiance effect and we should go outside and appreciate it. Myself, seeing as I'm inching towards being a smart grown up Californian, abstained and instead waited until the clouds parted and took a few pics It's not lighting but it will do.

I recall a few times being within ten yards of a strike on the lawn. The smell of ozone followed a very loud crack and the hairs seem to raise all over your body. Nature is awesome! I don't want to dwell on the danger but it certainly presented itself as a power to be reckoned with.

When i was a kid in puerto rico i saw some of these at the beach, it wasn't till way later in life i randomly heard it happens. Thought you guys might find it interesting 👍🏼
@achetocuddle "My tree" in front of the house I grew up in was struck by lightning years after we moved away. I went to see the house and the tree was just a stump. It had been three stories high. It was like my childhood had just been obliterated. I had a panic attack and went across the street to the old lady's house, and she told me what had happened. The county made them cut it down, so it wouldn't fall, after it was struck. So sad.

We had a futon on the patio for sleeping out on hot nights. One such night I was sleeping S a thunderstorm came through and lightening struck very close by. I rose quickly and was sitting up stunned when my wife at the time came out. I saw here and noticed her lips were moving but I was hearing nothing. This lasted about 5 minutes.

I've had a couple of near misses, to include one in an African thunderstorm that knocked me prone, deaf, and blind for what felt like 10 minutes. (I disagree with Toto's 'Africa' ) I've had 'experiences' with all kinds of voltages and currents (I'm ACTUALLY a good technician, LOL), but the idea of getting struck by lightning scares the crap outta me.

Years ago in Mexico. I was climbing the stairs of a house which had an open courtyard. I was almost to the top of the stairs when lightning struck approximately 5-10 feet from me. Also the handrail was made of metal. I literally was stuck to the handrail for what seemed to me like 5 minutes. I know that is impossible since lightning strikes in milliseconds, but everything seemed to be like in slow motion and I literally was stuck in place. As it passed I let out a big sigh/breath and felt slightly exhausted. That was something else.
