No matter how big or how small, please post something that you accomplished this week Brag a little! You deserve it.
I just completed a 169 day steak in my Hindi course on Duolingo 😊
Everyone deserves a little boost and reminder of the cool things they've done
@Annichka Hey homie! I recently started learn japanese with masa sensei on spotify, its not a 169 day streak on duo lingo but its something 😌
@munkg learning another language is always cool! And just starting is always a big hurdle to overcome on its own
@Annichka your thread and accomplishment are awesome!!
@munkg are you learning Japanese just for fun? Very cool!
An accomplishment I’m proud of this week is making time to hike. Sounds silly but hiking is a part of my self care routine and makes a huge difference in my sense of well-being. Refocusing my intention on taking care of myself and supporting myself feels great. 💜
I picked nearly a gallon of blueberries In Tennessee humidity and I held out as long as my much fitter sister
I woke. I worked . I pooped. I slept.
@achetocuddle I bet they tasted so great!! Good for you girl!
@pmvines Always gotta one up us, don’t ya ?! 🤪
I tried 3 new restaurants.
I visited a neighborhood that I had only visited at night - it was much more lively and yuppy than I thought.
I am watching my first movie in the 1st (and so far only) language that I learnt as an adult.
@Nature_Lover_ that's really cool and super important! As a PNW native, the outdoors are a necessity that's still easy to forget to make time for. I should make some time too
@achetocuddle That sounds delightful! And easy better than me. Any humidity in 80+ degree weather just knocks me out
@zacto ooh! What language do you speak?
@Annichka Picking blueberries was extra fun this year cause it was the first time my sis had ever picked them due to working long hours her whole life. As soon as we ate lunch and went to the Lebanon Farmer's Market for tomatoes I had to go home and get in the recliner. I was sapped! @zacto I like your posts. Please post more. @pmvines I don't know why I had to check this thread when I saw you had posted on it. I could have guessed part of what you wrote. It must be nice to be so regular. LOL. @Nature_Lover_ Making time to hike IS a BIG accomplishment. Especially during a Tennessee summer and considering you probably dealt with big metro Nashville traffic to get there, regardless of where you went.
@Nature_Lover_ After looking at your pics on the Nurture by Nature thread, I remembered you are not always in the Nashville area
Thanks @achetocuddle !
A cool thing I accomplished this week was losing my shit at work so everyone could understand they give me heart attack symptoms when they fall out of compliance with common policies and place my job in jeopardy. (Having grown up in a family that invalidated negative feelings and emotions, I have worked tremendously hard to acknowledge them as they occur and work through my default setting of gaslighting myself into being positive no matter what. Super unhealthy to experience your parents denying your human nature of crying, fried, anger, frustration, etc. Negative emotions were met with harsher punishments) It is a significant accomplishment for me personally to express a negative emotion, especially to a group of people that expect so much of me.
This community is a solid path of a break from my life during times like these. I don’t comment frequently but I read the threads. I enjoy seeing other perspectives. Sometimes I ignore messages due to my stress, but I did check them all recently and tried to respond back.
Kind of turned this into a personal venting session with a hint of childhood traumas-apologies. I am proud of myself for allowing myself the opportunity to remain professional and be taken seriously while still losing my shit.
@Annichka thank you 😊 @achetocuddle no worries at all! Nashville has become a sort of home away from home. I thinks it’s safe to say I might be falling for her.
@simsaddict Il proud of you! Sometimes a breakdown can be a breakthrough and sharing here helps others who may relate. I adore you and you are ever welcome to come and express yourself through art, losing your shit, cooking or anyway you choose to bless me 💜
I almost did not post in this thread cause I could not think of anything at first. Then when I thought about picking berries I couldn't decide if that was worth posting. I enjoyed the good feedback for my post.
@simsaddict That really is an accomplishment! I have always found it hard to strike that balance. And guess what? Negative emotions were discounted/not validated in my family. Lol. Laughing but not really
@Annichka thanks! @Nature_Lover_ I'm learning just for fun, i want to see how much i can retain 😅
I traveled the whole boarder of the US through all of it’s time zones in 2 months.
@simsaddict you don't need to apologise because you haven't done anything wrong. On the contrary, posts like yours are partly what this forum is for.
@Annichka Congrats! I love Duolingo! @munkg Asian languages are difficult since they are mostly if not all script instead of abc’s like the English and Spanish I speak. Congrats! You got this! @pmvines Im so proud of you 🥹🤗 @Nature_Lover_ I want to start hiking again! I’m happy you were able to enjoy nature again @achetocuddle My role model! I just learned the difference between pickling and fermenting and I’m excited to try them out! Congrats! @simsaddict Im super proud of you for standing up for yourself. I too come from a family such as yours and it’s a big thing to grow from and quess what you did it! 🎉 @zacto I love trying new places and getting some scenery in. I hope you enjoyed it all ☺️
@SoftPetals that sounds like a long journey 😌 And thanks as well!
@simsaddict omg I think I do the same, though I didn’t have the childhood trauma that goes with it so it’s not nearly as bad for me. That’s great this site is helping you. It has been such a help to me as well! Great job and I hope things at work are not unbearably awkward 😅
An actual date. Lol Its been a while as I'd taken a break from the crazy disappointing dating scene.
After about 1 month looking for a new toy, I was able to make a deal and just picked it up yesterday!!! So now I can go and play in the dirt, LOL
Finished planting out my garden beds. Bonded over gardening (and men) with my charming neighbor.
All of these amazing accomplishments! And still, I poop
I got a job!!!!! I was laid off in February, no income meant I lost my apartment so I had to move in with my parents (in my 40s!!) and pay my bills with the charity of family. I got a job this week after applying for 300-400. I was relentless.
Last day in Hawaii, went skydiving. Best view of the island.
