A place to share our feelings and experiences.

Hi,

I wanted to create a post with the purpose of sharing our thoughts and feelings around the excitement, enjoyment, fear, trauma and everything in between around cuddling.

There are lots of complex human emotions and group behaviours that can be a painful experience here on this site.

And for me, the best way to work through that pain, is to talk about it openly, and I wanted to create a little space for people to feel comfortable to do so.

We can talk about how it feels to be ghosted after making a connection, pressure we feel to be intimate on a faster schedule than we're ready, what it's like to form a business around these issues.

For me, I recognize the amazing benefits around prolonged human touch, and I wonder what my life might be like if it wasn't missing in my life.

I easily get overwhelmed by anxiety and fear around being disliked or targeted by my peers (school yard drama reliving itself in my mind), and that's led towards me to abruptly running away from the site when faced with negative emotions and sadly ghosting some people I was talking to here.

I've sent out apologies since, and for the most part everyone has been very understanding and sweet.

I am so blessed to have a professional therapist in my life to work through these issues with. I strongly recommend everyone at least try therapy once and find out if it's for them, I can't imagine being as functional as I am without it.

I look forward to reading any experiences or feelings anyone is comfortable sharing.

  • Lovely topic! There's tons of feelings to choose from...

I guess the first feeling that pops to mind is the absolute bliss I felt when I nestled into my friend's chest at a house cuddle. I was shocked how perfect it felt, how at peace I felt, how accepted and safe and warm and wanted. I nearly fell asleep, even with others in the room, and a movie going. It was just that beautiful. Definitely an experience to remember.

  • @SunsetSnuggles What a beautiful experience, thanks for sharing!

I love that warm feeling and physical reality of another's acceptance.

  • Thank you for opening this topic of discussion. I sit with tears in my eyes after reading the few other posts. I recognize feelings of sadness, trepidation (because I am new to the forum of cuddle and navigating the landscape of cuddle knowing the multitude of reasons why one would want to connect in this type of setting - innocent and not so innocent intentions) and caution. As you wrote, there are a LOT of "complex human emotions and group behaviors that can be a painful experience here on this site," and this site COULD also be a place to process those complex emotions. Like you, I hope others have initiated a relationship with a trusted therapist as I think our cuddle buddies should not be expected to help us do this work (unless they are a pro and they want to do this). I am working on me and don't expect someone else to do this work for me. NOR do I want to be responsible for someone else. NOR do I want someone to overstep a boundary that has clearly been set because they hope I will change my mind. I hope others will respect that I have thoughts through want is good and right for me and not ask me for more.

With that said, I know I have found utilizing the services of a licensed therapist helpful, and will continue to do so throughout my lifetime.

  • @TNNative Absolutely, therapy is beyond valuable to my mental health, and talking openly about our challenges is the best way, I believe, to face them.

Thank you for sharing your experience and insight.

  • @BigSmiles @TNNative I'm also in counseling, w00t for peeps working through their trauma! 👻
