Look at how receptive women have been to being approached in your own personal life. Be honest. Every guy knows the batting average is pretty low. Now think of how often women get approached in real life and multiply that by 100 with anonymous, random strangers online.
It takes even more time and patience when getting to know people online vs offline. Especially since we want them to allow us into their personal space for an extended period of time.
