Seems EVERYONE wants paid to cuddle anymore

I sure have been running into a lot of women that gee wiz the conversation is great. They are interesting to talk too and I believe they are a real person. Then set up a time and place to meet/cuddle. Then it seems every time just as it's getting close to meeting time they text and say, "Oh yea, it's $100 an hour so hope you have cash with you!" It's getting so frustrating anymore. The first one i met I didn't know you are not allowed to charge unless your a pro. I should have reported that, but since I see she has gotten banned, so it doesn't matter now. Seems to be a trend now.

    I know what you mean. Chatted with some who were not pros, but just before it was time to meet, they changed their status and said would have to pay now. I hate being deceived like that. But like you said, they apparently were reported and got banned, so there's that.

    Maybe they start innocently then start seeing dollar signs when others message them offering $$$$ to cuddle. Or, they come with the idea to make money from the beginning after learning of the opportunity somehow. At any rate, I'd be cautious of anyone too quick to accept to cuddle with me while assuming that it just an enthusiast.

    I've found it curious when shopping at the Farmer's Market that the booths that sold only one thing (eggs, avocados, strawberries, blueberries, et cetera) seem to have the highest prices. So I've learned not to buy those items there. Maybe it's better to look elsewhere for a cuddle buddy than at the Cuddle Store.

    @Melancholy Yep. There is only so much satisfaction in helping clean up the place by reporting erring members and winding up with zero cuddles.

    Something that's interesting (to me, anyway) is that you can go read very old posts on this forum, from many years ago, from before the site even allowed pros, and you can see exactly this same complaint over and over again. Man messages women, finally finds one who responds and it seems to be going well, and then once they schedule a time to meet suddenly she says "Oh by the way I charge $100/hour" and he naturally feels tricked. And then maybe he reports her and maybe she gets banned.

    Indeed, as far as I can tell by reading those old posts, the original motivation to allow pros on the site was basically a concession to this reality: few men got any responses from women except by these illegal pros. So either the site could accept that only a small percentage of the site's users had much chance of having actually finding a cuddle, or they could give in and allow pros.

    But anyway, yeah report them.

    True, but at least the cuddle landscape is a tiny bit more honest and transparent.

    Enthusiasts are not supposed to charge.

    However, if you’re talking to a PRO. Just because there is great conversation or connection, does not mean to expect a free session. Unless, a session is clearly stated as complimentary.

    I talk to both pros and non pros, and I do report the non pros that ask for money. But true you still end up with no cuddle at the end of the day. I don't mind paying once and a while, but I'm not going for the high dollar ones. I just don't see a cuddle being $150+ an hour if it's a legit cuddle. Where I'm at it's a 90 min drive at least to find a cuddler so I have to take into account gas for 3+ hours of driving. Just makes me not want to pay high dollar for it. Use to 75% of people met for free. I won't go into that but we know why everything has to cost to do anything anymore. Anywho I've ran across some great people here anyway.

    I'm pretty sure most people on this site don't charge.

    Trouble is, most of those non-charging enthusiasts refuse to cuddle with anyone but the demographic that contains the most pros. Which is probably why that demographic contains so many pros.

    Over the years you develop an ear for the ones that whip that demand out at the 11th hour. The last time it happened I asked her to Venmo me the $100 to pay her.

    I've been on this site for a while and experienced all of the above. I believe that the problem is that this website makes it too easy to become a professional.
    Prospective Pros should have to meet more qualifications in order to charge.
    They should have to pay for a criminal background check to eliminate prostitution and child trafficking.
    The website should switch from a booking fee to an monthly advertising fee. The booking fee is too easy to avoid.
    And they should have to cuddle as an enthusiast for 6 months in order to establish karma and prove that they are serious.
    And the website should be paying more attention to women's profiles before they are approved. There are way too many profiles for enthusiasts that blatantly state their hourly rate on the profile.

    This is disappointing for sure. I always mention and ask them to get a pro tag after speaking for a while when I realize their expectations and intentions here. Conversation will be interesting as intention is to develop an acquaintance. However, Be wary of fake profiles or any unsafe people. I outrightly report these kind of profiles/people. I don’t report genuine non pro enthusiasts who are real and nice as I can deny to pay and cancel any scheduled meet (if they ask for charge) and reiterate again asking to them to get a pro tag first and foremost before charging.

    @LonelyTXn74 I agree with the have to build up karma, but on the flip side I've asked cuddlers to give me karma and none have yet. So that sounds good but not very reliable. A monthly fee would be good that they have to pay to be a pro, I mean you make $100+ an hour then you should be able to swing $20 to have that tag. I've also been asked for more then the price advertised (after the cuddle) and I said no way, that's not how it works. Maybe that's why I can't get any karma.

    Uh... This is basically the total opposite of the problem discussed in this thread. If it were harder to become an official pro, how would that possibly lead to fewer enthusiasts trying to charge? It seems if anything it would make that happen more often.

    Personally, while I readily acknowledge that having a bunch of untrained people just joining and immediately being "pros" causes loads of problems... I think it's much, much better than the alternative. I have had really great sessions with women who just randomly signed up without any prior experience, who would not even consider jumping through a bunch of hoops to become a pro, and I don't want to discourage people like that from becoming cuddlers. If it were way harder to be a pro, it's not like there'd still be tons of pros but they'd just be better. There'd be hardly any pros at all.

    This is a terrible idea. It would destroy the site. Practically no one would do this. I'm serious. I've seen a lot of pros, and I am almost 100% certain that none of them would jump through these hoops you're proposing.

    There is absolutely no way I'd cuddle, pro bono for 6 months to prove I'm "worthy". I'd be burned out in my first week after dealing with handsy creeps who had no requirements placed on them to be a member.
    There's a better way at dealing with shady and untagged pros, report them.

    I am sorry you’re going through that. It’s gotta be disappointing when you spend time getting to know someone and really looking forward to spending time with them and then get met with that. I hope you’re able to find someone nearby who doesn’t try to pull a last minute stunt on you like that. I’m having the opposite problem of people’s initial message asking if we can meet Right Now Immediately when I want to talk to someone before deciding to meet them. I hope you meet some honest people soon

    @calineur Yeah I used to work as a landlord and saw a tenant dragging an AC unit to the dumpster. Someone noticed and asked if they could have it, then that tenant wanted to sell it to him - some people just like to inject money into it when they can even if they didn’t think it would end up that way initially. Either way if their account does not say Pro and they are charging, report them.

    This is quite common to run into "enthusiasts" who are actually trying to be pros in disguise. When I find that out I just don't cuddle them. If one isn't honest and up front about that, they are probably dishonest about other things too. And nothing feels good about cuddling with someone who hasn't been straight with you.

    In reality though, I usually only reach out to a handful of pros who I have come to know and trust. I'm sure there are enthusiasts who are good, but usually when I need a session it's also that I'm in a state where I just don't have the capacity to hold space for anyone else, let alone do any emotional labor. Reaching out to a pro allows me to just pay the session fee and in exchange get a session which is all focused on me.
