Emotional disorders/Mental disabilities/Spectrum

Good morning cuddlers.
So I have a sensitive question reguarding what I should add or not to my profile.
I'm in the spectrum and I also have experience cuddling with friends with mental disabilities & emotional disorders.
Im pending approval to be a pro cuddler and I was wondering if this is something I can add to my profile or not. Some of my closest friends have multiples systems (DID), are age regressors or are in the Spectrum like me.
Do you think it's too personal or could it offend someone?

  • Do you want to cuddle with someone who would be offended by it?

    No 👀
Im really open about my own mental disability and I often like to chat about it

  • I've seen it mentioned in profiles before, so you likely won't get banned for putting it in there. Think of it as a good filter.

  • The site certainly doesn't care, it's entirely a matter for you. And whether or not you do it, it's something you can change at a moment's notice as often as you like.

It's always worth experimenting with different profile text and photos to see what works and what doesn't. A significant proportion of your enquiries will come from people who haven't read your profile, and won't even if you ask them to. Of those that do, some don't care what you write because they are driven by other factors.

If you mention it, you are likely to receive more enquiries from others in a similar position, which is something that may or may not suit you. It may put a few people off but that's their loss. Anybody who would be actively offended is probably worth avoiding.

Yeah i've experience that on other social media where the info is clearly on my profile but some people msg me and ask questions that should be clear already 😅

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate this community 🤍 I will add it to my profile soon, I just have to think of a good way to word it. Im french and when I translate my thoughts in english word to word it doesn't always make sense or i've been told it's seems rude or too straightforward 🥺

  • Perhaps private message a draft to someone for them to help you edit, if needed. Being too straight forward isn't a problem for me (i also have a more european kind of humour), but I understand how a pro would need to come across for all types of customers. Good luck! 😊

This subject has come up from time to time in the forums and my impression is there are a number of people with ASD on this site. The spectrum is very broad and it may or may not be obvious to others if someone is even on the spectrum.

Whether you should include it in your profile is purely a matter of personal preference. I think most people on here are understanding and it would not matter to them and as someone stated above, you may get more enquiries from others who are also on the spectrum.

  • Thanks for coming out. It takes bravery! I always hesitate to say I have ADHD.

I would be weary to add that information because it may attract predators

  • @SweetiSammi being on the spectrum doesn't make you stupid. Just saying, it doesn't make it easier to be scammed.

@AGnihon I never said anything about the spectrum, stupidity, or scams.

Just saying, reading is ✨ fundamental ✨

  • It is online and as such lives here forever so I always caution about over sharing on dhe forums . Some people are very open about themselves where others have more a need to know basis motto . If you are one of those who enjoys sharing details about yourself, suit yourself. If not , then dont . As will all things in life , proceed with caution and good luck

I don't see why that would be offensive. That's actually good information to know. It means I can feel comfortable being myself around you since you already have experience with other systems.

There certainly are. A number have disclosed it on the forums, others to me in PMs, and I have seen in profiles.

  • @CuddleDuncan
I didn’t mention it above but I have shared in other posts that I am among that number. I only became aware of my ASD a few months ago through genetic testing.

ASD hasn’t held me back professionally at all. At times certain aspects of it (like my talent for data analysis and pattern recognition) feel more like a super power. However, in hindsight, I see where it has contributed to some interpersonal challenges for me. But if I were somehow given the choice of staying as I am or magically becoming neuro-typical, I would would choose to stay as I am.

  • Yeah, whatever one wants to share is their prerogative but to piggyback on @pmvines comment above, another thing to keep in mind is that there are people that come here who may have a predatory nature and might use what you share to their advantage.

It's something I wish I'd considered back when I first joined. Not that anyone has (at least not to my knowledge), but knowing that someone could potentially use candid info in a manipulative manner, makes me feel a little uneasy/more on guard than I would have been otherwise.

  • Hmm I can be pretty clueless sometimes and over share. I’ll keep that in mind 😳

I dont mind sharing things about my personality, my hobbies or even my health. If a person have in mind to take advantage of someone else, I think they will do it anyway no matter what you say about yourself.
I wouldnt share private details but I feel like opening up yourself a bit to other people help to start conversation.

How else are we suppose to connect?
