@achetocuddle thanks for the encouragement!! I’ve been quite chatty on the forum. Not sure why I don’t have the time I’m working too much. But maybe I’m a little feisty. Maybe this is a good outlet for me. I’m happy for everyone’s opinion though it helps me to learn. There’s so many angles and ways to think about stuff that you learn from everyone. I wish I had more time.
I have only blocked 2 people and in both cases it was over comments they made in the forums that I personally found offensive. In neither case were the comments directed at me and I did not flag or report their comments, I just found them condescending to other members and I knew from those comments we would not be a good match for cuddling. One of the people I blocked was so over the top that she got herself banned shortly after I blocked her.
The only reason I bothered blocking them (instead of just ignoring them) is so in the future I would not accidentally contact them if I was traveling through their area and they had changed their profile pic and/or user name.
@JohnR1972 I think that is a good idea and I have used blocking for similar reasons some don't agree with. I don't feel strongly about it one way or the other. Blocking can be a time-saver also, for both parties. I regret if it makes people feel sad or bothered. Sometimes I will try to avoid blocking by making a private note on their profile about them being unpleasant, etc. in the forum. This takes time that some people don't have, of course.
@achetocuddle - I have never made a note like that and didn’t realize that was something I could do. I will try that next time instead of blocking.
It was never my intent to start an argument with anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings but there are some people who say things on the forums that make it clear to me that we would not be a good match for cuddling.
Dear @JohnR1972 You just seem like you matter-of-factly presented your view and why you have it. I have wondered sometimes why people blocked me, but if they did you are probably not gonna enjoy a chance to get to know them. If I knew the reason why, I figure I might agree with them. I generally feel as if they and I have been spared in a good way.
I had been thinking I should mention the note option on a person's profile. I have a feeling there will be an increase in the amount of private note posting in the next few days. Lol.
The real question for me is why do they sometimes unblock me? Lol. There again, I'm not that curious.
@GreatHornedOwl - fair enough. My experience is skewed because 1) I do have a lot written on my profile and 2) a large percentage of reports are coming from pros who do have significant information written on their profiles so not a good comparison.
As Emily Litella would say, never mind.
@KozyKim - I haven’t done it yet but I’ve considered blocking a couple of people because, after reading their profile, I really don’t think we’d be a good match. I don’t peruse the cuddlers near me often so when I do and see someone closer to my age within a certain radius and think oh, I should check them out, then realize oh, it’s that guy.
@achetocuddle - I’ve been here I think four years and did not know about private notes til just now. Wonder what else I’m missing?
