I haven been exactly 'scammed' here but definitely got caught up in questioning my gut reactions to some things, convincing myself I was being rediculous, only to realize there's a reason we should follow our instincts!! 🤦♀️
It's totally not worth the, "What if I'm wrong?" or the, "What's the worse that can happen?" type of self-sabotaging.
If your gut says to charge a deposit, meet for coffee first, etc. then do!! If they bawlk, good on them for saving you the hastle of whatever else they'll object to.
Basically, if you want others to respect your boundaries, you need to respect them [your boundaries] first. And it should probably be seen as a really big red flag if someone is trying to get you to change your stance or to act in a way that benefits them (and not you).
