The greatest minds are not all in physics. We have Plato, Shakespeare, Aristotle, DaVinci and Butch. Butch was the greatest mind OG. He was the first to discover running when confronted by a saber tooth tiger. Discoveries are often born out of necessity.

What you're talking about is the concept of a fixed mindset (born talent) vs a growth mindset (skill is developed).
I don't believe in born geniuses- I believe everything has been and can be developed. At one point I was the best in the country in my sport - how? Not by born talent - training 3 to 4 hours a day for 11 months helped that. Talent wise I was average.
Even folks who post here often - you assume a lot, but I am currently working a second job at this time and just doing this in my down time on shift .
How long you've been on CC doesn't make any of your points more correct or any mild or subtle putdowns or gentle gaslights lol. They do say a lot about your personality. I am not hating. Your joke about the president in the other thread and some of your points are intelligent or well thought out. As for the rest, I don't care for your elevated sense of confidence or condescending comments or overall smugness, but I still appreciate your posts nonetheless!

This is a very interesting lecture on evolution by Richard Dawkins. He taught it at a religious school and the students were willing to listen and ask questions on this idea of where life came from.

I really like Maya Angelou, sociologist Emile Durkheim, and educational philosopher Maxine Greene. I also rather like the philosophical writings of Einstein.
I think about Hippocrates, Michelangelo, and Plato along with other names listed above.
Edit: I realized I have gotten Michelangelo and DaVinci mixed up. I love Michelangelo’s work, however DaVinci’s work, especially his experiments, are amazing. I saw a show on this which included his journal notes on the working of the human heart, and he was right on without having the technology of our time.
