It is now October 😳😮🙀 my favorite holiday is this month btw lol So what is everyone's favorite Halloween/Scary Movie (s)? I like Freddy lol and child's play and all the saw movies.
Years ago I was a big fan of Freddy and Jason. They were both popular when I was in high school in the 80s. I thought the original Scream movie was awesome.
But my favorite sci-fi and horror movies have always been the ones that are plausible - the type that make you think “I wonder if something like that has ever (or will ever) happen”. With that said, my favorite scary movie is the 2010 movie, “The Crazies.”
@JohnR1972 yes the scream movies were good. The newest one was like WTF and then OMG. I never did watch the crazies but it really doesn't sound like a movie I would get into. Just like the human centipede. I WILL NEVER WATCH ANY OF THEM. 🤢🤮🤢🤮 Nope...pass on them....
I would not put those 2 movies in the same category. I saw a PREVIEW to human centipede and I am 100% with you. I have no interest in watching that movie. It is just disgusting.
It is all personal taste but I really liked The Crazies because it was “realistic” in the sense that there was a semi-plausible explanation at the end of the movie that answered a lot of questions from the movie. It was a scary movie without being a 🤮 movie.
@JohnR1972 oh I wasn't putting them in the same category. I have no doubts The Crazies is nothing like the Human Centipede. I was just saying it's just a movie I don't think I would get into. But the older scary movie are awesome lol
I was born and raised Salem Massachusetts so Halloween became one of my favorite times of year and horror movies are also my favorite genre. My favorite series has to be Halloween I love Michael Myers there is just something about the guy and I just love the story. The original Dr. Loomis was a character I really enjoyed too.
I like zombie movies:
Other non-zombies:
I really enjoy comedy with my horror. Some of my favorites:
@MegaSnugglez I've always wanted to go to Salem but haven't been too. Do people there go all out for Halloween or not so much anymore. I like the Halloween movies too the ones by Rob Zombie are really good too.
@cylee1180 I've never heard of some of those movies.
@bekah_cuddles comedy can be a little hard to do with horror sometimes.
@Mama_Bre Yeah great movies. I wasn't huge into zombie flicks, then I had zombie dreams for 3 years. Then I grew to like it. Lol
I am a Hero trailer
Free stream The Wailing

Free stream Train to Busan
Edit: just saw Train to Busan 2. Great movie.
@Mama_Bre
Oh ya people still go all out. My daughter and I went down there last week for a food truck festival and it was already jumping for Halloween. Going down there on Halloween night is such a cool experience to see all the amazing costumes. I too definitely loved the rib zombie versions and I love a lot of rob zombies stuff. Devils rejects us one of my favorite movies.
I watched Salem’s Lot as a younger kid and didn’t sleep for what seemed days. I should rewatch and see how it affects me now. Lol
My current Halloween priority is figuring out this year’s Trunk or Treat display. I have to match or top last year’s, which was a big hit:
One of the (few) joys of my weird and messed-up body is that I look much younger than I actually am! The last time I went trick-or-treating, I was 28. My costume? A t-shirt saying "This is my costume" and a beardless face that looked somewhere around 15. I got free candy. Hooray.
Around this time of the year, I like to watch stuff like Storm of the Century, Repo!, and Ravenous. (Two of those are supposed to be funny. The other one manages it accidentally.) Ah, Halloween!
@DaringSprinter Ravenous is an excellent film. I haven't seen it since 1997. Guy Pearce. Might need to give it another watch.
There is new Halloween movie coming out this month. There are lots of new horror movies in the next few weeks. Two out now I saw were Pearl and Smile and would recommend both.
I'm excited that it's finally October 😁 time to start watching all my movies and everything. If I lived in a better area I would decorate and hand out candy.
@Mama_Bre What prevents you from handing out candy? Just curious
@Mama_Bre Happy Halloween!! 👻
@FunCartel she mentioned she doesn’t live in a good area for it 😔
Love, love, LOVE this season! It's the one day out of the year when I can just be my WHOLE, WEIRD, WONDERFUL Self, and nobody bats an eye!!!!
Wait. I live in... nevermind. Anyway, I love this season and hope everyone who enjoys Pumpkin Spice coffee gets their fill!
@Mama_Bre , last year, we participated in an event called "Trunk or Treat," where we candy givers lined our vehicles up and the kids went by and collected the candy! That way, they weren't going to strangers' homes, and there was PLENTY of safe supervision for them! We had fun! I don't know how widespread this idea is, but if you still want to share goodies with the littles, maybe there might be one in your area? Just a thought...
Can't wait to dress up as either Aunty Entity, Catwoman, Uhura, or Storm this year!!! Yaaay, Halloween! Jewels
@zerocantaloupe !!!!! THAT'S what I'm talking about!!! I need to slow down and start looking at more of the responses...the "good stuff" might have already been posted! Jewels
@ClubSamwiches Yeah but I have seen bad areas where trick or treating still happens. Just wondering if it’s the logistics or what. I understand the area being bad, but bad areas fall on a spectrum. I am just curious is all.
I stick with the classics Halloweentown, Adams Family and my newest favorite is Monster house and Coraline 🙈
@FunCartel I live in a trailer park kinda far out and there isn't any kids in the park.
@ClubSamwiches Happy October & Halloween 🎃
@JewelsnTools honestly I don't like pumpkin spice lol 😆 unfortunately I don't have a car or I would so totally do a trunk or treat. There is a few in my town. I only have one kid still old enough to go trick or treating. He is 13, so this will be his last year.
@SnshineScarlett I love those movies! I have a long list of movies I wanna watch. I will have to see how many I can get through. 😁
@Mama_Bre So sorry you can’t enjoy a proper Halloween.
@FunCartel thank you. Yea it does suck I can't really decorate and whatnot. But I try to celebrate in other ways and hopefully I can find some cool new things to do. It's been a few years since I went to the haunted caves in Lewisburg. I wonder if that would be a good cuddle session LMAO 🤣
@Mama_Bre ~ Huanted Caves + A Cuddle?! Okay, yep!! That would actually get me to go!!
Haunted was misspelled.
@bekah_cuddles i love those movies!
@cylee1180 Zombies are my favorite, and Return of the Living Dead is my favorite zombie movie.
Every year I have a few things I must watch. Return of the Living Dead and Trick R Treat are my two go-to’s. I have to watch Garfield’s Halloween Adventure because nostalgia, and on Halloween I will, without fail, watch The Ghost a Mr Chicken with my mom cause it’s her favorite.
I also may add Hubie Halloween in there because I love Adam Sandler and that movie is ridiculous but a fun Halloween movie.
I've been putting off watching the new Hocus pocus movie.
FYI y'all my spelling does suck but honestly I'm too old care lol plus if you figured out what I said then we be friends now lol 😂
@Mama_Bre ~ thar dislexus splelling tipo wus actuly myne.
Happens more often than I care to admit and I can't correct it at this point anyway, but I am 100% willing to admit my reliance on spellcheck and that it's due to my challenges related to spelling that I don't play scrabble with people who might try to make me feel stupid.
But nice to know that some find it necessary to also offer nothing more than a critique on spelling (as opposed to their typical gushing compliment in most cases) rather than something that actually contributes something to the conversation.
What a nightmare! (heh-heh said so still 'sort of' on topic ~ but totally not a favorite in any season)
