@DaringSprinter I think the quotation marks indicates sarcasm. I didn't find anything malicious, but I could see how her statement about humans' purpose being to reproduce can set some people off- but that is subjective and wasn't meant to be exclusionary.
It was an intense debate, and I thought you both were quite civil - I just didnt see any malice from either side but definitely some misunderstanding.
I feel man's purpose is spiritual development and progress and helping/showing compassion to others.
@cylee1180: Yeah, that is a sarcasm indicator. Conservative folk often put "progress" and "progressive" in quotes to indicate that they're not talking about the kind of progress they want (typically "progress" backwards, toward the Good Old Days™), but rather the type of progress liberals think is progress—towards things like rights for children and medical care for everyone who needs it and so on. I've seen it a lot.
If that's not how you meant it, though, @tinc, please tell me how you did mean it, because I obviously misunderstood egregiously!
Personally, I think humanity has no assigned, objective purpose. I think every individual chooses their own purpose for themself, and nobody else. To say "the purpose of life—yours, mine, every living thing's—is [whatever]" ...to me, that looks like overreach.
@DaringSprinter I can agree that we all assign meanings to our lives. Or, some people don't and I think that's not a good place to be (unless they're happy or content in their meaninglessness - which can be possible. I guess that's another totally different and interesting philosophical debate. Would that be existentialism? Or that combined with atheism? Interesting stuff).
Sad the creator of this forum is not longer on the site. I do hope they’re okay.

@cde123 Yeah many people are traumatized and sadly don’t know how to speak to people. They often feel loads of guilt for things that occur in their lives. Although some things are out responsibility, a good portion of things aren’t. People would rather deflect than heal themselves and fight hard to remedy their situation. It’s happened to me when I befriended someone from CC. @DaringSprinter people are so cruel and often times deflect. You have purpose ❤️. Sorry you had to deal with the madness as soon as you hopped online. Overtime you’ll see who you can gravitate too and who you can’t.

@Charlie_Bear You are wise. I agree you shouldn’t label someone a troll until you know it to be fact. The fact that the person deleted their account could signal issues. Perhaps the name stems from insecurities and a lack of confidence. I hope not. But calling someone a troll without substantive proof is mean. We don’t know. And we shouldn’t speculate because the mods will come in and put a stop to any and all speculation on a member who is not here.
I'd messaged with him and he seemed real to me. Also, most trolls don't have pics. But either way, I agree it's not nice to leap to conclusions. And just because an OP leaves, it doesn't make their words any less worthy of consideration (IMO anyway), so why even bring that up?
