So it happened I somehow managed to book a cuddle session and I'm terrified excited nervous anxious and happy God I'm a hot mess any advice on how to calm myself so I'm not a complete idiot.
Deep, slow breaths usually help me. If that fails, exercising myself sweaty and taking a shower typically reduces excess energy.
You're seeing a pro, right? They're probably used to guiding excited new cuddlers through a first cuddle. Just admit you're new, excited, scared, happy, all that stuff, and let them take the lead, and you should be fine.
And congratulations!
@DaringSprinter yes and yes I have explained everything to her and she told me to breathe as well thank you for the words of wisdom.
Sounds like she knows what she's doing. You're welcome; and best of luck!
Relax and enjoy! Wear comfortable clothes. And brush your teeth and shower ahead of time. Good luck .
Great advice @cylee1180 thanks I will.
@olydan I was really nervous the first time- I was frozen half the session, but the cuddler was very kind and nurturing.
@olydan And now @cylee1180 is completely over his nerves. It didn't take him any time. I remember cylee's post when he was about to have his first cuddle Y'all are braver than me; I would never have talked about my first cuddle before it happened.
Thanks to everyone for your support and advice it means a lot ❤️ it amazing to try to be a part of your community this has been amazing so far I feel touched 🥲 thank you 😊
You're welcome! It's great to have you here.
My advice is that the professional will be there with you and the embrace will trustfully be calming. Allow yourself to enjoy the moment.
The fact that you are nervous makes you sound sweet, kind, and down to earth. You're going to be just fine. 🙂
@Mela_B thanks I try to be. I sure hope so.
Try thinking of describing what you are feeling in positive terms.....like excited, anticipation, dreaming, hopeful, etc. After all, you are looking forward to a wonderful time sharing an experience with another. You are there to connect with them, and them with you.
Cuddling should relieve stress, not be the cause of it.
Relax. Enjoy. HUGS
Nerves are normal. It's not the end of the world , just dont over think it and build it up into more than it is. Sometimes when anxiety etc kicks in we catstrophise things and build the issue up way taller than it is. Dont give it that kind of control. Chill out and enjoy yourself, breathe, think good thoughts. Make a list of 5 good things about yourself and repeat them in your head . Then think of one or two things that bring you absolute calm and peace, and visualize that. Do these things every time that you start to feel anxious, have self doubt, or bad feelings about yourself or your situation. You will be fine, and best of wishes to you
@olydan All the advice above is great, especially the breathing, visualizing. The best thing about cuddling is it’s not dating! No expectations, you can relax and just be yourself, the awesome guy you are! Hoping it’s a wonderful experience for you. Openly communicate what is important to you and enjoy! 😊🤗
@olydan Most likely the person that you’re going to see will make you feel relaxed the moment you see her or him. Have fun!!
Hooray!
Remember your seven P's. Proper Planning and Preparation Prevent Piss-Poor Performance. Double check all the practical arrangements the day before. Route, clothes, parking, etc. Scrupulously clean. Plan what will you do if you/they are late/early. You've done all this a million times before, it isn't different.
Keep your expectations modest. You are expecting to meet a nice person and have a nice time. If it's amazing, that's bonus.
And remember what happens if you say or do something foolish .... it's nothing; nothing happens. It doesn't matter.
It's your session. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If there is something happening that makes you uncomfortable, just say, "I'm feeling uncomfortable" and then you can figure out together what to do about it.
Lots of good advice in the thread already.
I was the same way my 1st cuddle, even my 2nd cuddle because there was almost a year in between them. I still get nervous/excited when I am meeting a new cuddlist, I have been lucky to find amazing cuddlist who have been able to help me with my nerves and relax me almost instantly.
I'm actually having my 1st overnight session in a week with someone I have cuddled several times and that terrifies/excites me.
But as others have said, just breathe and focus on the positive that can/will be had. Good luck with your 1st cuddle and the many more to come.
