  • What about it? The sounds, the darkness? Lightning?

  • I love thunderstorms, they're amazing. Sitting out on a porch watching the lightning dance across the sky and waiting for the low rumble or the loud crack of thunder is so calming for me.

  • I love them! They make me feel happy. We had a cracker here yesterday, it was really nice.

My theory is that it's a lot to do with the attitude of whoever brought you up. My parents would get me out of bed to "come and watch the thunderstorm" and I saw some really good lightening as a kid.

However, if you are taught to be afraid of them as a very young child, you might carry that fear throughout your life.

  • Thunderstorms scare me!!!!

Beats a blizzard. The snow and driving in it after a blizzard is like an STD…the act of getting it was nice but now it won’t go away.

  • @KamikaziNinja86 Me too. And standing outside in the wind before the storm is great.

  • Thunderstorms are amazing. In Midwest the wind and lightning is amazing. In the southwest watching those storms from far away and watching the tumbleweeds pick up speed is amazing. Storm Chasing with the pros is on my bucket list for sure 👍

  • There is something so comforting & relaxing about rain & thunderstorms ⛈️ ☔️ very relaxing! And it is in those moments I wish I was a homeowner with a front porch or back deck to enjoy the rain with a cold beer in hand & some relaxing music 🎶

  • I am not scared of thunder storms as long as they are not related to tornados or hurricanes.

Like @cuddles_ndream, I find them relaxing.

  • i like thunderstorms because they're like a lottery where if i win, i'm guilt-free absolved of all my responsibilities and don't have to live on this hellscape we call a society anymore

  • @zerocantaloupe I hope you don't win that lottery. Besides, a lot of people only wind up maimed. Getting hit by lightning is not a guaranteed out.

  • I find the look of a lightning bolt striking.

  • Thunderstorms are great, when sheltered and witnessing through the window

  • NOTHING like the thunderstorms across the Phoenix valley in the monsoon season.

  • @Sideon a Storm like that would be freakin awesome to see. I've been in a thunderstorm up in the mountains once where the hairs on my arms were standing up because there was so much electricity in the air. Right as the lightning flash the thunder was cracking. It was awesome!

Easily makes sense how thunderstorms can be frightening as they're loud, possibility of being struck by lightning and can lead to fires. I personally love thunderstorms and watching lightning. We recently had a thunderstorm in southern California which is fairly rare here so it was thrilling.

  • A storm is forecast for middle Tennessee tomorrow. Yay!

  • Very serious thunderstorms scare me too! I sort of enjoy them, but still get a little freaked out.

  • Reminds me of Live. Lightening Crashes

The coolest thing is “thunder snow”. When it’s snowing during a thunderstorm. I once experienced it and walked outside while it was lightning out and gently snowing. Suddenly a huge owl swooped down over my head and it was magical!

Reminds me of this weather reporter going crazy for it!:

  • Thunderstorms and snowstorms, particularly snowstorms awaken something in me where I just have to get dressed, and go and immerse myself in it. I take the longest walks in snowstorms. The less visibility, the more torrential, the better.

  • I love thunderstorms. I grab a beer and a chair and sit on the front porch. Cuddling during a storm would be awesome as long as it isn't too bad.

  • I find it soothing 🌩 🌧 Lately I've been falling asleep to YouTube videos of thunder storms

  • I listen to rain on my Alexa to fall asleep so real rain is like melatonin to me I'm out like a light

  • @ thundercatgirl.

Ditto on thundersnow, it's rare in the northeast but it's really cool when it happens.

It seems like Thunderstorms don't happen as much as they used too in New England. But I love when they do. We used to build forts on the front porch as kids out of wooden boxes and camp out in them during storms. Then onetime lightning struck the porch and my mom wouldn't let us do it anymore lol

  • Yes to thunderstorms and cuddling while watching and listening to them!
Hard no to hurricanes, thunderstorms and lightning while my house floods.

  • @KaaGee 💯! I love rain 🌧️, however … I don’t wanna get cought in it without an umbrella ☔️ 😂

  • Thunderstorms are so relaxing for me. Like it takes all that energy and draws it out of me.

I don't mind thunderstorms. I hate wind storms.

  • The sounds of spring riding the thunderstorms into a deep dream.
