@Mike403 its still odd from a business perspective. A simple “no thanks” wouldn’t be so hard.
I get a TON of low-quality, non customized “hi let’s set up a cuddle” or “hi” or “you look pretty” or “wassup” intros from guys who clearly didn’t read my profile about wanting to establish a real friendship first and get to know me. If someone puts in effort to read my profile and properly introduce themselves and be respectful of my time, yeah I’ll probably respond. If someone has no pic or they seem off or they just don’t seem like they put any effort into getting to know me - it’s not my job to educate people that a one word “hi” message isn’t effective.
Edit - I’m also not a pro, I’m an enthusiast, and it’s literally not my job to reply to every guy who ever messages me on okcupid, this site, hinge, bumble, etc - but when I do reply to low quality intros, all I say is one word back. “No” 🤣
Don't let it get to you. There are worse responses than being ignored.
@MrMarkAndrew - IMO, A non-response is better than getting one only to tell you no. Also many have had bad experiences with guys not taking rejection well and continuing to be pushy, so it's better to just not respond at all to avoid the stress.
A simple no thanks would serve no purpose other than giving folks something else to post ranty threads about how mean the world is because women arent giving them what they want

If I’m not interested I won’t respond, if I am, I will. Preeeetty simple. I think it just makes more sense that way.

I just joined this site because I was interested in learning more, which requires you to create a profile. Which I did without a photo and have received 15+ messages within 2 days. That’s a bit overkill for me as I’m still exploring if this is something I’m interested in trying. So I haven’t responded to more than 1message. Could be other new people are in a similar situation.
@Beachy if you mute your account , you wont show up in searches and people won't be able to message you without you messaging them first, just FYI
