I’ve been volunteering with a greyhound rescues for around ten years. Most people think they are hyper dogs but they are actually extremely lazy.

Pit bulls were originally Nanny Dogs. I currently have 3, and have fostered many for a few years now. They have a craptastic reputation, but are really HUGE babies! Not to mention most of them adore children!
I love animals and I love science, so I've got tons of these rattling around in my brain. x3 Off the top of my head:
Elephants are amazing. You know how we say that an Elephant never forgets? There's a really good reason for that; and here's an example of why, but warning, this one will be sad :c --Elephants love their mates and family members very deeply. When a mate dies, elephants will sometimes lie down by the body to cry and will stay there until they starve to death out of grief. However, for the times when this doesn't happen (for example, if they have a baby to raise) that elephant may make yearly pilgrimmages to the spot where their mate has died. If the bones of the mate remain, the elephant will sometimes pick them up with their trunk and hold them close in a 'hug'
Turkeys and Komodo dragons have something in common; neither of them actually needs to mate in order to have kids! I guess they just do it anyway because they can, or to have someone else around to babysit the eggs.
A colossal squid can grow to the size of a bus. Calamari, anyone? xD
Christmas tree worms are beautiful. Seriously. Go google that.
The lung fish is awesome; when droughts happen in Africa, it'll burrow into the mud and hybernate until the drought ends; but sometimes, by accident, the mud that it's sleeping in is used to make bricks for mud huts that the locals live in. Lung fish can survive like that for up to 5 years. When the rain finally comes and the bricks soften and grow moist, the lung fish will wake up and start crawling out of the walls to get back to the river, haha. xD
Anyone like swans or flamigos? 20% of annual pairings of black swans are male same-sex couples, who will frequently adopt eggs, either from a female one of them mated with or from a heterosexual couple. The cygnets they adopt tend to do better in survival rate than heterosexually raised swans. (xD Granted, sometimes the animal kingdom's idea of 'adopt' seems to be 'drive off the other parent(s).') Same-sex flamigo couples will also adopt chicks who have been knocked out of their nests by their biological parents.
I love dolphins. They're very loyal, as they mate for life, and they're very playful and intelligent creatures, if rather aggressive at times. Three quarters of all bottlenose dolphins are in same-sex pair-bonds, and when a bunch of dolphins get together for mating, it's called a "wuzzle." xD Which is... just kind of adorable.

Starfish don’t have ears.

A little fact about Border Collies. The Roman Empire was the first civilization to master the art of raising and herding sheep. When they brought sheep and shepherds over to the British Isles, many of the sheepdogs the Romans brought to Britain didn't get on well with the colder climate. So the Celtics began breeding their own. These new dogs were smaller and more agile than their predecessors. They were called collies after the ancient Celtic word colley, meaning useful or faithful.

I do know that 4 generations of the females were all solid white with one blue and one green eye.
She is 10 years old and her name is SNUGGLES. (Named by my late wife). She was a mama’s girl.

Tardigrades are an adorable little organism known to be an extremophile. In their dormant state they can survive near absoute zero and up to 300F degrees. They can survive 1000x the radiation that would kill an elephant. They can withstand pressures 6x greater than at the depths of the deepest oceans on Earth. Scientists left a sample of tardigrades unprotected in the vacuum of space for 10 days and they and they were fine after coming out of their dormant state. Source: SciShow
Ay, that's nice and like all cats she's cute. I either know a cat/dog's breed or I ask lol. It's alright, some times unknown or they're mixed.
