Cuddling vs partner dancing

I've been partner dancing for a while and some of the dances with close holds have a similar idea to cuddling. Its almost like hugging for a song and then switching a hugging buddy all while playfully dancing. Any other partner dancers come to a similar conclusion? Think theres a similar mentality there?

    Yes, @Bhaagmon. I often compare the partnered dance position called the frame to hugging. I just wish ballroom styles of dance were more popular among people within 5 years of my age. Every ballroom dance class I take seems to be chock-full of senior citizens :'( Dancing involves touching. I don't enjoy touching just any senior citizen even if it's only to dance.

    haha I've been there!! My senior citizens are usually sweet old ladies so they tend to be pretty fun dances anyway. I imagine ballrooms pretty skewed to an older age group more than the types I do though.

    @Bhaagmon, long before I was in the professional cuddling world I described dancing exactly like that. On days I can't get an actual cuddle, I'll go get a dance cuddle for an hour or two :)

    I haven't checked your location yet, but one dance style I love is called Blues Dancing, and the majority of the dancers are in the 20s-30s age range so check it out if that sounds good.

    I reallllly miss slow-dancing. Especially to slow jams.

    There's a 51% chance I slow-dance with my pillow sometimes...

    @bhaagmon I would love to take some ballroom dancing classes and the Blue Dancing @PinkLipstick22 mentioned sounds fun. I drop most of my free time and money into a couple other hobbies I'm passionate about and have no dance partner.. though I'm sure I'd get paired up with someone to practice with if you come to the class alone. I do like the idea and way that you put it though.. about sharing a dance and switching partners, enjoying the company but not taking things beyond just dancing together.
    @chococuddles no shame in that at all... there is a 51% chance i will dance alone and sing while preparing and cooking a meal ^_^

    Thanks for the info, @PinkLipstick22 <3 I have found a dance school about 3 miles from my home that offers blues dance lessons and opportunities. I am in between jobs at the time of this post but when I work again I plan to attend it.
