Lying about age

  • I’ve talked with a few pros that lied about their age and their reason opened my eyes up to a whole new world. They had a lot of men fetishizing the older age of a woman. Like, “milf” status and started treating them like the mom but making it super weird and sexualized. So a lot of pros I know have lowered their age to get rid of those types of people. So to me, that’s a safety factor.

But for someone to blatantly lie about their age in hopes of getting a cuddle, that just seems cat fishy to me, no? To me, if I was meeting a cuddler that said they were in their 30s or 40s but show up and they are clearly 20-30 years older than that, I would end the meeting. It’s definitely a trust issue and a whole “if you can lie about this, what else will you lie about or not care about”. It’s not worth the risk. We are about to meet to have an amazing and intimate cuddle that requires a lot of trust. If you can’t even be truthful about your age, how is there trust? I don’t care how old or young you are, I care about you disrespecting me by lying. Period.

  • @GreatHornedOwl expand your search range. I can't say why I think that would help. There's a reason somewhere in the back of my brain that I can't quite articulate properly. It's not about age it's about the gap between. I'll let you know when I figure out what I'm thinking.

@stormydaycuddle Once you figure out what you are thinking, I could use some help with that myself. Maybe my mind rolled under the bed.

    @Sheena123

They had a lot of men fetishizing the older age of a woman. Like, "milf" status and started treating them like the mom but making it super weird and sexualized.

I definitely encountered this and it did have a small bearing on my age adjustment, men half my age seeking "cougars" and hoping to satisfy a mom fetish . Yuck. Once I felt more comfortable in my screening process these became very easy to spot.

  • @Rezz and @Sheena123 .

Me when anyone dares call me "daddy":

  • @Sideon that’s right! You’re a Zaddy! They got it wrong lol 😆

  • @rezz @sheena123 @sideon 100% have gotten "mommy seeking" vibes from clients before. I'm not on my phone so I can't make the puke emoji but it would be here.

Somewhat relevant, but in the online dating world, I’ve noticed that women are more preferential when it comes to age, but in person dating, not so much care is given about age gaps. The people who lie might be trying to emulate this result (if they get to know me before knowing my age, they’ll accept me)

If there was an option to not list age (while requiring all to be atleast 18), that would prevent some insecure people/people who game the system from having lie, maybe.

  • Except for maybe getting a passport, I assume people fudge the truth about pretty much everything from their job title to their salary to their age to the neighborhood where they live. Most of these are benign lies, like saying you are an executive assistant when your technical job title is administrative assistant, or saying you're 32 when you're really 36. So long as the fiction is believable, I'm okay with it. Just don't say you're 42 when you're really 67 or tell me you own the restaurant when you're really a server.

  • I seem to recall I lied about my age by one day when I signed up here. It was to mess up bots gathering info.

  • @JasonCuddles
So while your concern is valid, most every website has a public facing file bots are supposed to check for when pulling data from a site called "robots.txt". The file page lists what bots are and aren't allowed to gather when pulling data from sites. It's always the website URL followed by "/robots.txt". CuddleComfort has one too if you'd like to check it out:
    https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/robots.txt

This is not to sidetrack from the discussion, but to inform those who might have had a similar concern. Yes, not every person creating a bot to pull site data is going to adhere to following rules like this, but it's out there for the majority who do.

I have experienced ageism at work. After stumbling upon a coworker here, I set my face pics to private and altered my outward facing data. Sometimes, my profile has included this explicit caveat. At other times, I have raised the topic with each prospective cuddler, individually.

  • @stormydaycuddle I always put 5-10 years above my max age just incase there is someone just outside the criteria...

Oh and BTW my profile says I'm 36 when really I'm 63 🤪

  • TBH, when i was creating my profile i had a second thought whether i put my actual age or less. After giving more thoughts, I decided, no I will go with my actual age (50). I would rather be ok with rejections based on my age not within someone’s preferred age range instead of someone realizing it later which could change their entire perspective about me. I am glad, I went with my actual age as 1) I am not hiding anything 2) infact, I am still friends with few individuals whose preferred age range is way less than my age 3) most important, i like the compliments i get when someone says you dont look like 50 😄

  • , i like the compliments i get when someone says you dont look like 50 😄

I get the same compliments when they say you don’t look 21.

  • Dont wanna be one of those but its not just men people, however, its not just men who lie about their age and it is glib to turn it into a gendered debate.

    @pmvines

I wasn't suggesting that only men lie about their age. All of the people I've cuddled with have been men, though, so that's why I worded it as I did. Perhaps it would've been better to use the word "clients" rather than men to avoid confusion.

  • Here's something to think about. I'm on a dating site--I get 5 to 10 "likes" every day, and this is one of the rare commercial sites where you can see the profiles of those "liking" you without paying a fee. I would say that at least 95% of the women who "like" me are older than me by up to a decade or more. I've talked to a number of male friends who do online dating and they all have that same experience. It's pretty clear that when women have a wide range of choices, they want to have younger men. So if there's a guy who's, say, 50, and he thinks that a nice age-appropriate 45-year-old would be a good companion for him, he's out of luck because she's chasing 35- and 40-year-olds (or they're chasing her if she's remotely attractive). Thus Mr. 50-year-old has to claim he's 40 to even have a chance with women in his target demographic.

Under these circumstances, can you really blame the guy for lying?

Now I know you're going to say "this is different, it's a strictly platonic cuddling site," but it's really not that different--women still have their preferences about who they'd want to spend time with, even if it's "platonic" and even if they're getting paid, and they're not shy about setting a hard age limit in their profiles (there are exceptions, of course).

@FitSmartCuddler that may be the norm out there, yet quite the opposite of my experience. Maybe just because I am in the older range now 😆 Many younger guys hit on me (in the dating world and seek me out here) and I think that is common. My preference in dating is my age or older… I enjoy the company of men a good deal older than myself. Here, it doesn’t matter unless they are looking for mommy vibes 😬

I’ve never understood the lying about age thing but after reading this thread and the points covered about search engines and privacy, I’m thinking changing to a year or two older is a good idea. For cuddling purposes as a woman who isn’t looking to build a business, it really doesn’t matter if I’m “older” in data. 🤷‍♀️

Too much emphasis is put on age in our society. I am not sure why it is important on cuddling sites, or even dating sites, unless it is to ensure minors are not on these sites. If I look at a profile my first thought is not how old the person is. Initially I base my decisions on their written narrative and then their pic. More often than not we cannot tell a person's age by their physical appearance so what difference does it make. Of course you could say, well I do not want to have a relationship with someone x number of years younger/older than me. What is that based on? Over my lifetime I have been in many different types of relationships with women, and age has never been a factor for me. If the connection is there then that is the most important thing for me. Of course, none of us really know when another human being is lying, about anything, until facts prove us wrong. At that time we can make the decision whether we want the relationship to carry on.
Humans lie about other things more important than age. All of us have lied and the effect of that affects many.

  • To me; age is just a number. My ex boyfriend was 51 and looked better than most guys my age, but unfortunately was insecure about our age difference, but literally one of the best people I ever knew. I wish people didn't put so much emphasis on age, but this is the way many people are. I know on some dating sites; there are age parameters that are automatically set so people fake ages to be in the parameters.

  • My age on my profile is accurate to within a few weeks. I didn’t want to put my actual date of birth on this site but it is close. Compared to my exact age, my age on this site is 99.9% accurate 😂

I only lie to make myself older. I'm 36 and I will say I'm 93 just so people will tell me I look good for my age.

  • People lying about age...location...marital status...intentions... sigh I need a hug. heads over here...

26 but I lie about that too because I have an 76 yr old back

Women totally lie about their age too. I feel like it's changing now but there's always been this feeling that once we're past 30 (or 22 if you're Leonardo di caprio) women are worth less somehow so maybe that's why.

Idk why men lie about their age though, personally I prefer older men. They are usually more polite and communicate better, and are better cuddlers in my experience. Less flaky too!

  • [Deleted User]SnugglesRus (deleted user)

@Mikitea those are my observations on older men as well 💫

  • I just turned 40 last year and seeing that number compared to 39 hits a lot harder than I expected it to. I feel like I have the maturity of a 25 year old, and I only say 25 because I have rented plenty of cars with no issue 😅 And even then, I feel like most 21-25 year olds have much more life experience than me. I need someone older that has chosen to remain single to tell me everything is going to be ok, and assurances that carpal tunnel wont get too severe preventing me from playing video games during my golden years 👴🏼🎮

  • @GreatHornedOwl I know cuddling other men is not your thing, but I def don’t think you are too old to cuddle.

  • @Charlie_Bear I agree 💯and have cuddled 80 year old men before and yes, they still cuddle very well!!! Cuddles have no age lol 😂
