@Sideon Much obliged. The morbidly curious side of me wonders how long and varied that list was, but really I don't want to know lol I also thought he was new to the site.
You know I think this is kind of funny. I have sent out a lot of first messages over this past year and most get no replies. Looking back at them, especially having now grown a bit and understanding what should and should not be in a first message, I am honestly surprised I got any responses at all. (Note that nothing inappropriate was ever sent!) I decided to send out a couple first messages to fellow enthusiasts in this thread and I got such kind responses to both of the messages I had sent. I’m not gonna tag because I want to respect their privacy, but the advice I have to offer to anyone struggling to connect is to be genuine, show an interest that you actually care about the feelings of the person you are messaging, and be fun about it. Don’t make inappropriate jokes or use cheesy pickup lines as if this was a dating site, just be kind and thoughtful and fully read their profile and give a genuine reason why you are reaching out. People want to respond to those that they could become friends with much more than with someone that doesn’t care about the person and is only focused on, essentially, an object for them to satisfy whatever urges they have 🤢 though to the creeps, keep on outing yourselves so the recipient can smash that report button so no one has to actually meet you in person.

Cottage cheese reminds me of thrush. Look up the medical pictures of thrush. That is a first message image one cannot erase from one’s mind.

@MissAdventurous Thrush normally occurs in the throat, so next time you eat cottage cheese don’t swallow all the way and run to a mirror and snap a pic. You can use it to get out of work.
