Well, I mentioned in passing in response to one of @ohnonotagain ‘s posts that we should start a business travelers thread because I believe there are a lot of us on this site. A couple of people said we or me should do it so here it is.

I am making this thread open ended for my business traveler homies to give their thoughts, tips and stories on here. This could be about cuddling on the road, travel tips and stories, travel frustrations or other related frequent traveler experiences. Make it yours with each post.

Likewise, if you are a travel neophyte and have questions about travel or cuddling out of town, please post your questions or requests here.

I will start with a hyper quick travel profile:

    Travel healthcare worker, though I've traveled extensively previous to this career for personal effects. I can tell you all types of funny shit I've seen in hospitals, or moan about the absolute horrible state the heakthcare industry is in, but id rather be optimistic.

    I recently found out some airports have arrangements that they can not over charge for food and drink, so restaurants at those airports will have regular restaurant pricing.

    Plan ahead for cuddling is a great tip, if anything, finding something for the day or two had been nearly impossible, but still could happen.

    It gets incredibly lonely traveling long term alone, especially in the healthcare field, do not confuse the sudden re-emergence of hormones in your body for love, these are professionals.

    If you are in a new city and just want to lay in bed all day, I say do it regardless of the situation. It's ok to lay in bed all day even if it lasts the whole trip. If you know you will feel guilty, go out and do what you wanted, but if you just want to fully rest and finally found it at a hotel, by all means.

    Conversely, do/eat things that you can only find in that city. One host was born and raised in long beach, SOOOOOOO many dive bars were recommended and I saw things most who didn't know wouldn't. What's up thirsty isle and joe josts.

    Maintain positivity no matter the situation. The person giving you bad news is not in control of the situation, they are just the messenger. Shit, if you give the universe positivity, sometimes it smiles back at you and gets you out of the jam.

    If time allows it plan for an extra day on each end of vacation to not work. Prior to, clean the house, when you return you now have a full day of relaxing or if flights were delayed not as much concern for calling out of work. Might even get an airline credit too.

    Read the book, "how to win friends and influence people.". It's cool that you travel and you want to loudly tell the world about yourself, but you might learn a lot more about the world and even yourself if you sit back and listen. No one cares where you are from or why it is better, they care about your character and who you are.

    Just because you are on vacation doesn't mean everyone else is as well.

    BINGO!!! Can’t tell you how many people when they travel blabber on about where they are from and how it is heaven on earth when they could be learning about where they are. When in Rome….

    @ohnonotagain i have found the people in the Los Angeles metro to be some of the best ambassadors of their communities to people traveling in. I have received all sorts of tips from them and can genuinely say it is one of my favorite places to go because they educated me so well.

    @FunCartel 100+ flights a year? Just...wow. I try to fly every other week, so about 26 a year. And for me, the worst of flying is the width of the seats, no question!

    I like the Milwaukee airport (where I'm based): good size, decent amount of direct flights and pretty easy to get around. I do have a particular feeling towards Chicago's O'Hare, where 90% of my connecting flights are - I know where to eat, the yoga room, gate distances, etc.
    Tomorrow I'm heading to Tampa, although I've never care much about airports in FL. Sigle lane to go through security in almost all of them 🙄, but CLEAR is a life saver.

    I rarely have a meaningful interaction with a seatmate, but that's ok since there is always some computer work to do. A few times, it happened for me to listen someone telling me about a very intimate topic, curiously; maybe because we wouldn't see each other again? Interestingly, I took a shuttle from parking lot to the airport in Chicago last August, and I rode with the same couple on both ways! (I went to San Diego and them to Vegas).

    While traveling and especially if I'm out of the country, I'm normally riding along with someone or in a group, and that helps me visiting some spots, knowing where to eat the typical food, and learning some local history.
    I've been able to meet wonderful CC members while traveling, not only here in the US but also Canada and Europe. My schedule is almost always unpredictable though... oftentimes there are work appointments scheduled in the last minute, including dinner with clients, which makes hard to meet or book a cuddler in the evening.
    I plan my trips to be pretty short, so I don't spend too much time away from my daughter. Thus, I've never given up my seat for an airline credit in an oversold flight (once they were offering $2,000!).

    I rarely travel for work, but I did successfully arrange a cuddle session while I was there (NYC area). She was on time and very professional, I really appreciated the opportunity to not feel alone while on the road.
    Best advice, though, for business travelers is to plan ahead! It took a lot of messages with pro cuddlers to find one who was available during my limited availability.

    Probably 6 or 7 flights a year, plus sometimes driving to nearby cities for work. Favorite airport is SFO or Qingdao airport

    Travel tips I have for cuddlers is to require deposits since cancellations and flakes seem to increase when working out of market.

    Travel cuddles are my favorite! I’ve had sessions in Chicago, DC, Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta, Raleigh, Phoenix, Rhode Island, Denver, and I’m sure other cities that aren’t coming to mind at the moment. I agree scheduling in advance is key, and good communication is always important as always. Whether in my hotel or at the cuddler’s place (or in a camper van, a tent, or elsewhere) I’ve met some amazing people while travel cuddling, and they can be the best local tour guides too!

    My work schedule takes me to a number of cities in Canada and the USA. CC is a great opportunity to meet new people in a new city whether it is for cuddling, eating out a a local favourite spot or some adventuring.

    My favourite cities are Montréal, Hawaii, and Los Angeles (LA especially meeting people for public outings including Manhattan Beach). LA is also where I discovered cuddling at a cuddling party in 2016.

    I echo what people have said about booking ahead and clear communication. I don’t book with people where things are unclear or 420 folks.

    Hey, Hey,Hey, resurrecting this ( instead of making a new one.) What do y'all think of the American Airlines new "Gate Lice" technology? Oh my gosh I was watching some peeps get caught and they are calling it a walk of shame for the peeps getting caught trying to cut the lines. 🤣

    Thanks to @OhioMike for reactivating this thread. I didn’t even know about it. And gate lice always get there faster than the rest of us so I understand their rush….

    At my peak I did around 50 flights a year. Now I’m slowly approaching 25 after a major lull from Covid. Hope to not reach 50 again. 😎

    Favorite airports are the small and quick regional ones. Burbank, Santa Ana, Boise, Reno, etc. you can get in and out very quick. They’re also usually cleaner and simpler.

    Worst are the massive disorganized ones that have been expanded haphazard, like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix. They take forever to get through. Then again a massive delay to get to and from rentals

    Have to agree with @TheFunCartel that Albuquerque’s Sunport is the most unique. It also has one of the worst lag times for rentals, a verrrry long bus drive.

    If I had any tips at all, they be along the lines of plan ahead of you want to cuddle, but that’s not much of a tip since that works at home too. 😇

    A good cuddle can take the ugh out of yet another business trip, and possibly creat a new friendship.

    I'm a United guy, @OhioMike , and I might take 1 or 2 flights with Southwest, but I'm not very found of American. I do think the technology is interesting though.
    Last week I had to take an Air Canada flight back from Montreal since my United one was cancelled, and there were people from group 4 jumping in group 1 - seriously?? They deserve a walk of shame!!

    @Maverick07 I like United also. I will be flying that from Columbus to Denver for Jan '25 Meet & Greet. I really am not super loyal to any of them. Southwest has tons of flights but I always feel odd when I purchase Business Select and my ticket says A-1 but I'm the 25th plus person getting on the plane? I'm like um....... I guess that's ok?

    I like Delta because they have a lot of flight choices also but I always remember the D in Delta stands for Delay ! 😳

    I fly American probably the least but in these neck of the woods you usually connect thru Charlotte and they have a nice airport for a long layover. Flying a bunch next 5 weeks so I'm hoping to see more of American's gate lice policy in action!

    Delta Diamond Medallion member here. Fky about 40 times a year. Have cuddled in San Diego, Florida, Virginia, all through upstate NY, Philly, DC, NJ. CT, and others. I arranging a business trip in Pittsburgh to hopefully get to cuddle with the most beautiful cuddler on this site.

    30 +/- flights a year (way down from pre pandemic)
    Favorite Airport : Columbus Ohio! I know a homer but really it is set up really well and easy peasy to get in and out!

    Least Favorite: Atlanta. Just too dang big and the car rental experience is always a crap shoot!

    Airport With Unique Style: Honolulu's airport with the open-air walkways and sections! Like wow... there's really no windows!!

    Travel Cuddle Tip: Don't be shy to message folks in the area you are travelling to. I have met so many peeps just by travelling to their city and stopping by their profile to say hello and say I am visiting your city soon! 🤗

    @OhioMike - speaking of Southwest, a weird experience: 2 years ago I booked a ticket from TPA to MKE, and paid for early bird (and I'm a Rapid Rewards member). My colleague from France was in the same flight, first time flying SW. She boarded before me 🤔

    I'm Premier 1K with United, and the perks - especially the extra PlusPoints, and direct Premier line - are nice. This year I'm just shy of 100 individual flights.

    @Maverick07 wow! you and @TheFunCartel are some serious road warriors! Since I usually am flying out of Columbus (CMH) and don't have like a huge number of flights let alone connecting flights, I haven't been able to build up rewards with a single carrier. I've been picking flights by convenience for me vs. a brand unfortunately.

    Isn't Southwest beginning to get rid of the open seating policy starting next summer? 🤔

    Southwest is basically a bus with wings model, but it’s also one of the only consistently profitable airlines, at least last time I actually looked. It’ll be interesting, as it shifts to mirror other airlines, to watch and see if it becomes more or less successful.

    Also about 25 or so flights a year, mostly for work, and only United so I am usually platinum level. We manufacture x-ray devices for food and beverage inspection, and I'm the RSO for my company. Occasionally our technicians are too busy doing installations so I travel to customer sites to perform their annual radiation surveys required by the regulations. Unfortunately, flying out of or returning to O'Hare means I rarely get the free upgrade since there are lots of 1K fliers also.

    Don't really have favorite airports (well, Schiphol is pretty nice, but I only go there on vacations), but can definitively say Newark is one of the worst.

    Only ever cuddled twice so don't really have any tips.

    When I was traveling for work I would always upgrade to first class. I would sit at a restaurant or somewhere secluded for as long as possible and would always be one of the last ones to board. It was a great feeling being last.

    @OhioMike , I disagree completely about Atlanta. I think it's one of the best airports I've been to in the US. Also love their aerotel rooms. I would fly home straight from work and I would be filthy (I had to tour our factory and warehouse when I would be down there). Nothing was better than getting to the airport 3 or 4 hours early, taking a shower and relaxing in a private room until boarding.

    My favorite airport hands down is Changi. HK is a close 2nd. I think I'm going to Korea this year with my son for the taekwondo championships so I will get to experience Incheon.

    On another note... NY's LGA has improve drastically over the past few years. The Delta terminal is actually a pleasure now. You can disembark and be at your car in just a few minutes.

    @Mr_Cuddle_Bear I think what someone likes or dislikes is pure opinion, but I do agree with @OhioMike about Atlanta. It is too crowded, there is a wait for everything and just not very relaxing at all. But that’s me. However, I reserve the right to change my mind as they are talking about a second airport to relieve the pressure off of Hartsfield.

    But on that note, my opinion on that is because of preference—I am with @lovingspoonfull on this. Since I rent cars I prefer the ease and convenience of many of the smaller regional airports. For example, I will endure layovers to avoid flying into Boston Logan. Instead I fly into Manchester, NH. I would rather drive in rural New England than navigate the tunnel you are instantly dumped into in Boston only to sit in traffic once you get out of the tunnel.

    @TheFunCartel , I'll agree about renting cars in Atlanta. Towards the end of my commuting there I switched to taking ubers to my hotel. Taking the airtrain all the way out to get to the car rentals was a horrible experience.

    I agree, driving after landing at the Boston airport is pretty bad.

    Years ago, I used to drive all over Massachusetts for wrestling shows, and I never liked the ones that were in Boston because of the ongoing and seemingly neverending "Big Dig."

    I've been flying into Newark a lot and ate a couple of times as this fairly informal tavern-restaurant in the airport while waiting for my connecting flight called "Vespers" or something like that. It has kind of a 70s/early 80s vibe and I found the food to be good.

    Of the major airlines, so far I've had the best experience flying mostly first class on United. I like how the seats on their 757s recline into a bed and are surrounded by a sort of cocoon.

    Pittsburgh is a great city for visiting cuddles! I've had @MajesticMango stop through for a visit which was awesome 😎😎💯. People also pass through for business and I've made some great connections that way. Those cuddle clients (in my experience) are typically well reviewed, good communicators while planning, and appreciate company, cuddles, and conversation. I host in my place, but I've asked for valet or Uber occasionally if the person who wants to cuddle is in a downtown hotel.
    Anywhere from a few days to a week heads up to plan a cuddle session is always good. I got a request from someone on the road and they said they would be in town in approximately 47 minutes. Needless to say, that didn't work out. I've also chatted with people on the site who eventually make it to Pittsburgh and it's like having an old friend by the time we meet for the cuddle session.

    Recently traveled through El Paso and the vibe was way off, at least to me. The airport was crawling with K-9 units in the terminal, and had two levels of security before accessing the gates; the TSA like all others, and armed Border Patrol agents as a second level.

    Is that normal for El Paso? I’ve traveled through other border city airports like San Diego and Tucson but never experienced anything that felt like a military checkpoint.

    Frequent business traveller here. I'm an Australian who attends numerous conferences and conventions where I am hired to cover the event for various news sites.

    This often sees me in the United States sometimes up to ten times every year - typically San Francisco, Las Vegas, sometimes Orlando, and sometimes a variety of other places - Dallas, San Jose, Denver, Chicago, Washington DC, etc.

    Other times I get to go to Asia, Europe, etc. - this year I've been to Singapore twice, Fiji, Barcelona, and in other years Vancouver, Taipei, Madrid, Paris, London, etc.

    However, it can be hard being a business traveller. First, it's a lonely life on the road. And secondly, I can appreciate the local cuddlers might be suspicious of someone who's in a hotel whereas my motives are truly, truly, truly genuine, sincere, respectful, and platonic. I'm a lonely, weary fellow who simply looks for comfort and warmth and to give back, not purely receive. I want to help encourage those who maybe feel unvalued, those looking for the healing energy of a platonic friendly warm cuddle ... but it's difficult.

    The city where I get the most responses is always Las Vegas, and 99.999999% of the time it's enthusiasts who say "oh by the way even though it's not in my profile, I am a professional and the fee is ....." OR who are actually offering other "services" than cuddling. It's kind of sad that here you have to be wary of escorts posing as cuddlers. Plus scammers.

    Where I've had the least responses has been in Asia.

    And where I live, my hometown, it's all pretty dead on this site.

    Still, I have met some very nice people through this site. There's a lovely kind-hearted lady in Orlando, a wonderful girl who was in Washington DC but in the years since (for clarity, I had a profile on this site pre-COVID and then deleted it. I wish I hadn't as I had good karma, but ah well) she got married and moved to Texas, and I also met other pleasant people in other cities. But, in general, it's super-hard to find people to cuddle with who are legit.

    As all my travel is long haul (and boy, coming from Australia it's ALL super long haul) so I'm platinum with my airline which is awesome for all the perks. BUT ... airline perks, hotels, suitcases ... it's a lonely existence at times and this site, hopefully, can help one find human connections.
