THE LAST DANCE
He said "Kiss me now, for tomorrow may never be seen. Hold my hand, I don't want to let go of this dream. Love me now, for though there is pain up ahead, It is now, there is still so much life on this thread.
Dance for me, for I live in the sway of your heart. Smile for me, for your lips make my butterflies start. Sing for me, let your voice echo love to these pains; In this moment, let me feel your wholeness again.
Within me is a light that forever will glow; In your heart this truth you have felt so you know; So hold on, this dream is a dream of the free, And forever this light is in you and in me.
Lets dance, though my body is failing to be, I can dance, there is still a soft rhythm in me. Lets sing, together we sing with the free Let's love, this moment is ours just to be."
So they danced, they danced in the music of true; They laughed, they laughed till their love shimmered through. They kissed, they kissed but cried, for they knew That their souls will soon only touch by the moon.
And now, as she stares at the vastness of night; Looking on at each twinkling star shining bright; Her heart, jumps and lifts like a feather in flight As their souls, touch again by the moons loving light.

@Charlie_Bear Tell that to the armless vet who almost threw the grenade back
@FunCartel ya know, I almost think Rip should have considered that scenario before he said that 😬😅
@Charlie_Bear Or tell it to the cuddler who almost got out of a hug before @pmvines let one rip.
“The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.” C. JoyBell C.

Beautiful and I need that ! Thank you @MissAdventurous
@Charlie_Bear yessssss rip!
They saw her in the library Discarded on a chair And her glossy, shiny cover Made them notice she was there
They picked her up and held her For a minute, maybe three And they said she was exquisite The most beautiful they’d seen
They thought not of her pages Simply stared at her in awe Then they put her on the bookshelf As they headed out the door
So they never knew the words she chose To mark her journey’s start And they didn’t read the reams and reams Of kindness at her heart
They didn’t read the things she hid In pages left untouched Or the hellos and goodbyes she’d said To people that she loved
They didn’t read the chapters Where she set herself apart And they never read the lines she wrote Of how they’d played their part
They didn’t turn the pages On her struggles and her strengths And they missed the ripped-up paper Where she’d torn herself to shreds
They never read the parts About the places she had been Or the people she had helped Or all the wonders she had seen
So when anybody asked them What it was that she was like They realised they had no idea What she was like inside
See, they’d told her she was beautiful Because of how she looked But they’d just admired her cover And they’d never read her book

Fall in love gently. Remind yourself that you are the longest relationship of your life. Remind yourself that you are a child of this universe and that you are worthy of happiness. Fall in love with the way you feel things deeply.
The color of someone’s laughter. The texture of someone’s kindness. The nostalgia of going back to places that caused you so much pleasure and pain. You are an old soul trapped in a body that’s slowly, slowly decaying.
You are a traveler of both the outer world and the inner world. Fall in love with your failures. The events that shaped you into becoming who you are today.
Embrace your shortcomings for they serve as a lesson in your formless memory. Forgive yourself for everything that is causing you so much pain. It is a brutal process, and you must get through it. Self-hate can only generate more worry in your life. Let it go. You don’t have to carry it forever. Fall in love with your body. Romanticize it. The freckles on your face are constellations. The heart-shaped birthmark right behind your hips.
The positive aura of your gummy smile. The way that your body is working hard to keep you alive like electricity lighting up a whole city on a cloudless night. Fall in love with your existence. The little things that make you who you are. The poetry that you write. The instrument that you play.
The way you put your makeup on as you face another challenging day. These little things that make you who you are come from the way you express your being. Fall in love with yourself until you finally feel like home." Juansen Dizon

“My kids are starting to notice I'm a little different from the other dads. ‘Why don't you have a straight job like everyone else?’ they asked me the other day.
I told them this story:
In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, ‘Look at me...I'm tall, and I'm straight, and I'm handsome. Look at you...you're all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you.’
And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, ‘Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest.’So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.” Tom Waits
"After a while you learn the subtle difference Between holding a hand and chaining a soul, And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning And company doesn’t mean security, And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts And presents aren’t promises, And you begin to accept your defeats With your head up and your eyes open With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child, And you learn to build all your roads on today, Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans, And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn That even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure… That you really are strong, And you really do have worth. And you learn and learn… With every goodbye you learn." Veronica Shoffstall - Comes the Dawn.
