My olive branch for the day. I know so many people in this community love reading so I'm dropping some sites I wish I'd known about sooner. I can't find another post to place this on so I'll put it here. Webpages for books like online 2nd hand store and a brand new inexpensive book outlet

    Book sites for every book imaginable including collectables for 1/8 the price. I love them. @HumbleBaron

    @stormydaycuddle - I don't know if you're looking for ebooks, or reap paper books, or if you saw my post on a previous thread. If you're wanting ebooks, whose copyrights have expired, Project Gutenberg is a library of over 60,000 books that you can download, completely free.

    I got a free Kindle Oasis through my job for 25 years of service. It kinda got me into reading more. Three months of Kindle Unlimited through Amazon was included, so I have that for the time being.

    Another great thing you can do use use indiebound.com. Ebooks or regular books and the sales go
    To the indie bookstore of your choice. Great way to keep money in your local area instead of in Jeff Bezos’ pocket.

    @mimtheplantmom i may have a whole bookcase full of books with the thrift tags still on them. I had to get every book that has ever made an impression on me… Got the classics. Things like Our Town and “the true story of the 3 little pigs” the first book I remember liking.

    Most Goodwill stores have a decent size book department, and are very inexpensive.

    There's a site you can look up local mini libraries around town and go to them.

    What I did last time when I wanted to get rid of some old books I did a drive around town and visited little mini libraries people had put up and I would exchange books/leave some in there for others. Fun adventures and saw more of the town that way in ways I wouldn't normally have seen.....book version of geocaching 🤣🤣

    @stormydaycuddle Oooh! Thanks for the links. I've been reading a lot of digital books for years but it's not the same as turning pages. The last book haul here was definitely pricey so I appreciate the suggestions 😁

    I do have to admit guys... it is a slippery slope. Yes, the books are inexpensive. Did I spend $$$ filling my new bookshelf and getting new books for my incredibly utilized 'Little Free Library' I've set up for my urban neighborhood....kinda.

    @MissAdventurous I've heard of that. Its popular isn't it? I'll have to check it out.

    Next time you're in town 😉 @stormydaycuddle let's go book shopping and catch up. It's been way too long. Sad I missed you when I was in Denver last December hahaha.

    I have my own personal library upstairs guest room area.... that could rival many.

    Do you all prefer e-readers(such as a Kindle) or actual books? E-readers are really convenient, but it's nothing like the feel of turning a physical page.

    The library has e-books you can check out for free on their website and download them directly to the device.

    Bumping this one to the top not because I'm conceited about my own post but because people have shared so many good resources too and I think some of the nicer threads - music- memes, learning sites etc could use some attention atm. A little more positivity... says the woman who fights anyone and everyone hahahaha

    I don’t have particulars but it was reported they altered Willy wonka of all things. I’m looking into it. I realize how that sounded. Lol. I mean I’m checking the news and Wikipedia lol.
