Is a picture of a shirtless man in front of the mirror that shows his face inappropriate enough to get banned?

I’m not sure it sends the right message to many viewers, but I wouldn’t think that it would warrant a ban. But I’m not in charge.

  • I don’t see it any different than women with cleavage . I would hope it didn’t get banned .

I think it depends if he’s attractive.

    I’m kidding.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a sexually suggestive picture but if the cuddle expected in this website is with shirt and shorts (at least) then a shirtless image sends the wrong message and can invite other mixed messages.

  • I wouldn't think it would be enough to get banned for, but I would say having it as a default profile photo is sending the wrong message for why they are here.. as if this were a dating site and they were trying to attract someone over just platonic cuddling. Sure they could be proud and want to show off the hard work to get to that state, but personally I see it as being the equivalent to a girl with a photo in a bikini on this site. While someone may be proud, think they look good in the picture, and want to show that off, sexual or not, it still can send a different type of message than you might think to the various people viewing your page... and it isn't great for newcomers to see who are already on the fence about cuddling, some that see this as a dating/hookup service already, and some that think this is some other illegal service.

Now, having a couple or a few pictures up and one of them, not being your default profile picture, being a shirtless or bikini or deliberate cleavage picture I don't see the harm in though cuddling rules do say minimum for a cuddle session is a shirt and shorts, but setting up the profile with that as your profile picture or as your only picture I'd say they should do a different image or the image gets removed for them.

  • All I'm saying is that I'll ignore any messages from topless people. Doesn't seem appropriate to me so I'll just ignore it

@Spongymarble I think that is a valid choice. While being shitless doesn’t necessarily mean that the individual expects anything outside the rule book, it certainly doesn’t certify that s/he has read and bought into the rules. I get so few hits, if I were approached by someone with a shirtless (or even excessively revealing cleavage) profile picture, I’d probably take the next step and exchange info, but I’d ask a direct question or two about the choice of photos. As an attractive young lady who probably gets a lot more inquiries than I do, you can afford to go the cautious route and just say, “No thank you.”

  • I know that it doesn't necessarily mean that they are looking for more than cuddles so I'll check their profile. But so far the ones I saw shirtless did not have anything filled out on their profile and that alone is off-putting to me. I took my time to write alot on my profile. I don't know what to talk about with just a: hey let's cuddle. Those are often the ones not even wanting to conversate but they inquire about a meeting right away.

It's not so much about that I can afford to deny cuddle requests because of attractiveness (but thanks), it's more that I'm concerned about my safety.
I don't want to be in a situation where I have to fight someone off me.

Btw I don't even get that many messages.

On it’s own, other than potentially giving off the wrong message, it’s harmless—but combined with other things, it could rapidly get less so.

As cuddelbug suggested, it’s like a woman showing cleavage—which in itself isn’t so much a problem, but the devil is in the details; like so—how much cleavage is in the picture? Is the focal point of the picture her chest? Has her profile been filled out provocatively? Is she wearing a normal shirt or is it something deliberately ‘sexy’ and meant to show off her bust, like with lingerie...? So on.

Intent is the main thing. If a guy just takes an innocent pic of himself at the pool or whatever, no one is likely to bat an eye.

  • I grew up mostly shirtless in the hot humid Texas climate, and it is not uncommon for me to be shirtless in the hot Southern California climate, but I have never seen the need to post any shirtless pictures online. Although I think family may have posted some of me as a kid on Facebook. I am all for equality, and think everyone, men and women alike, should be allowed to go shirtless if they want to. Of course that wouldn't apply to this site. I agree that it should not be a default photo here, and maybe even be warned to change it or have it deleted.
