Is there a way to set up your profile that doesn’t show when you visited somebodies page

  • Hmmm that’s an odd inquiry.

  • So basically lurking is not enough? You want to be joe goldberg lol!

@chloe88 joe Goldberg 😂😂😂 I’m rewatching YOU so he’s Will Bettlestein right now

  • There is not a way to disable it, as far as I know. If a person has "Block public visitors?" turned off in the settings (most likely pros) - their pages can be viewed while signed out. So if anyone else on here wants to prevent someone from checking your page without your knowledge, be sure to turn that on.

  • @Nina_Mitchell im waiting for new season to finish i can't bare to wait for each episode lol!

  • @chloe88 @Nina_Mitchell
I have only seen the first season so far, but I will finish it after the current show I am on.

  • Nope; you can lurk but you can't hide. 😈 And yes, the mods will catch a second profile for creepin'. 🥷🏻

  • This feature should simply be removed. It serves no useful purpose and invites weird lines of thinking and speculating about one's visitors. Look at the occasional posts we get that are some variation of, "Why has this person visited my profile a few times but not messaged me?"

Imagine if social networks like Facebook and Instagram told you every time someone looked at your profile - so much speculation and drama would result. There's a reason they don't have such a feature. (I know Instagram will tell you if someone watches your story, which is weird enough, but that's not going nearly as far as reporting profile visits.)

  • It would work better if I could delete people in my visitor's queue so I could show visitors that I would be more likely to cuddle. Right now the only way to eliminate visitors is to block them. Otherwise, I find the Visitors list to be really helpful in organizing potential cuddlers. I'm sure the thought was to use Favorites for that. But I use Favorites to keep track of a lot of folks for various reasons not necessarily having to do with cuddling.

I think you're talking about the "You Visited" list. That's a pretty different thing. It's information for you about your own actions. The just plain "Visitors" list is information one has about the actions of others.

  • @CuddleWho I'm talking about the Visitors list. The OP mentioned they didn't want to be seen on that list. I am simply stating that to the contrary, I like it. I'm also suggesting how to make it better.

Nothing wrong with looking around, checking out different profiles but why would you want hide the fact that you did look. @CuddleWho as a pro i don't mind having visitors some of them probably don't have the courage to message and say hi because maybe they don't have free time to meet up, or probably are shy, some of the reasons we are on this app. Or just maybe simply haven't save enough money to book. But to hide looking at someones profile kinda give a off vibes.
@Charlie_Bear i don't know how you manage to watch the first season and stop there. Lol!

  • Hey folks, if you don't like the fact that you can't hide your viewing activity and that it might gasp cause the initiation of human interaction aka messages from the person you viewed, you always have the option to block them instead of answering them, or even just ignoring the message.

Also you have the ability to make notes on peoples profiles that only you can see by clicking the three dots at the top (the same place you go to block). You can use that notes section for anything you like - make a tl;dr of their policies, take down notes from conversations with them, document problems that come up, etc. Copying and pasting to a note app or taking screenshots can also be incredibly useful tools for organization.

  • No. This is a good thing. It encourages community and communication

I am responding simply as a fellow user here, but what about the option to add private tags to profiles within your favorites. Then you could easily group them however you want and even assign multiple tags to members for much easier organization between lists.

  • @Charlie_Bear Grouping options would be amazing. It would make travel cuddles so much easier. I could add people to a group for a particular state or area of the country. That way I won't accidentally miss a friend if I happen to take a trip nearby.

  • Question for the pros. Do you use typically message the people that are in your recently viewed list that might be in your city/town to introduce yourself? I was perusing the comments and that idea didn't even register as something to do to me until I read this thread.

  • @All_the_snuggs I'm not a Pro, but yes, that is a huge part of advertising your cuddle business.

  • @SunsetSnuggles Thanks for the insight. Greatly appreciated!

  • @All_the_snuggs For sure! 🤗 As long as they've visited your profile, you're within the site's limitations to reach out, as that's not considered a "cold call". 👍🏻

    @chloe88

i don't mind having visitors some of them probably don't have the courage to message and say hi because maybe they don't have free time to meet up, or probably are shy,

I can pretty much guarantee you that most of your non-messaging visitors aren't avoiding messaging because they are shy - they're not messaging because they just aren't very motivated to do so. They browse around the site, they do searches, they click on a bunch of profiles, and you're one of dozens of profiles they happen to visit. This mindset - that your visitors are all highly interested in you in particular, and not just people browsing around the site - is exactly the weird line of thinking I'm talking about that the Visitors list encourages.

But to hide looking at someones profile kinda give a off vibes.

Does it also "give off vibes" that you can't see who looked at your profile on Facebook or Instagram? (And you can on TikTok, but people can turn it off, as is being requested here.) CuddleComfort is the only social site I know of where this feature exists and can't be turned off, but commenters are acting like it's completely normative and removing it would be strange.

My guess is this feature exists here precisely so that pros can see who has visited them and attempt to drum up business. And while this is not a dating site, obviously, it is closer to that model than, say, Facebook or Instagram - and most dating sites allow you to see who has visited your profile.

  • Viewing profiles existed before there were Pros on this site. This is not a social media site, per se, so the comparison is not apt. Folks do have options to lock down their profile and pics, to make notes on other profiles, to add favorites, to engage/message, and to block. At the end of the day, you get out of CC what you put into it, starting with a filled out profile.

  • @CuddleWho Agreed, I have had clients tell me that they are constantly contacted by pros for weeks after just viewing their profile. And there are some pros who think being viewed, but never messaged, is still a relationship. It's not, it's just window-shopping.

  • @cuddlewho
But Facebook/Instagram/TikTok/etc are not specifically designed to help people connect to cuddle platonically. If someone is hesitant to visit a profile because they are afraid it would be viewed as stalking, that’s a good thing as far as I’m concerned. I imagine it’s a feature designed to provide more safety to the members here, so someone wanting it removed makes me question why they are here.

  • @CuddleWho original "first public class to join Facebook when you had to have a college email to join" user here... FB used to have the viewed profile feature when it was still just a social networking site and not a social media site. You know, when you could have poke wars and tag friends without their permission and flood their walls with ASCII pics that they'd have to scroll through forever on their Nokia phones at 20¢/MB 🤣

But then when FB opened to the general public and to advertising, and then especially when it opened to minors, they removed the feature because actual stalking became notoriously rampant. There were several high profile cases and that was the end of that. The other social media sites followed suit.

So essentially we can't have that feature because of creepy pedophiles and tech giants wanting to control who we see and hear from via algorithms...neither of which are an issue here, one would hope.

I think the better option, that is employed by several messaging apps, is the opt-out feature for online status type deal, which could be used to cover profile views. It's a mutual privacy opt-out, so if you do it you won't show up in people's lists, but you also won't see your list. The default is usually to keep it on, so that you can see who is online/currently typing/has viewed your profile/etc.

  • @CuddleWho i didn't say all of them have the same issue. But im not gonna go back and forth to prove my point.
