They're probably just trying to gauge or get a feel who you are. I wouldn't take it personally unless it makes you uncomfortable.

I've had a couple gay people reach out to me randomly. With short "hi" messages...nothing of value. I deleted and went on with my day.
I assume anyone looking at my profile is doing so because he/she is 1) looking to cuddle with someone I left a review on or 2) because of a comment I made.
I would venture that 65% of guys look at guys that leave karma with a lady, 20% from forum posts, 10% are targeted as having potential for playing for the other team and another 20% looking for engineers for math help.

I don't randomly message straight guys very often. I don't want to freak them out or anything, so I don't even say anything. Just a blank message. Sometimes things are best left unsaid and unspoken.
