Do most cuddlers enjoy music, conversation, or silence? What is your preference?
My preference would be conversation, with soft music in the background. I have found the perfect music for cuddling. It's a 2 CD set, with over 2 hours of Baroque adagios
@GreatHornedOwl
Me too. You had me 100% on board, until “baroque”. I’m into ambient post rock, or maybe small live shows (like Tiny Desk NPR) played softly in the background.
For environment, somewhere private and secure. Dim lighting, a slight breeze from a fan, a VERY comfy couch, futon, or mattress to lounge and cuddle on.
It’s been a very long time since I was able to cuddle with someone.
I miss it.
I’m big on conversation but some of my partners like to put on music, and I’ve also enjoyed sessions with long but comfortable silences. For me, figuring out what works for each other is essential to being able to enjoy a cuddle, so I’m very adaptive irregardless of whether I’m with a pro or not.
Music or conversation. Complete silence is okay but can also be awkward.
White noise (preferably thunderstorms) or soft music. Conversations are nice, though mine are usually short since I drift off to sleep relatively quickly.
@CharlesInWI - Listen to Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor, and tell me that you couldn't cuddle to that. Or, how about Samuel Barbers Adagio for strings?
Keep the volume low.

I like to have music, but it is just relaxing ambient music and has no lyrics so it's not distracting. I have it playing at a very low volume in the background while we are talking and cuddling. I started playing it during my cuddle sessions because having nothing in the background was awkward for me.
I'll say conversation first, to get to know each other a little more since there's that physical contact already happening. Then if it continues with the same person, whatever we feel like: silence, conversation, a movie/TV show...
All three with balance. I love lo-fi, edm, or meditation music, weaving in and out of conversation and silence. It’s all good and about the comfortability of my partner
All of the above tbh. It depends on how my partner and I are feeling at the moment.
I love all of it...but I largely go off what makes the lady happy 😊
Silence
A rainy spring storm Saturday or Sunday is perfect, with balcony doors open just a little
Ok, @GreatHornedOwl , we have found another commonality as I'm a Baroque musician so I perked up the moment you said that. I'd personally have to go for more obscure pieces and composers though, because I'd find the more popular pieces that I've played ad nauseum for years too distracting 😂
My own musical tastes in general are pretty eclectic and I'll change up my playlists depending on my mood, the time of year, whom I'm with, etc. I had been going through a pretty long 80s New Wave Revival and 90s Pop / Alternative kick for quite awhile (instrumental tracks can make surprisingly good backgrounds AND nostalgia talking points), but recently I've been moving back into softer, more acoustic and ambient stuff 🤷🏻♀️ a mix of newer folksy singer-songwriter and downtempo EDM.
Maybe I'll have to breakout my Early Music, Baroque, and Movie Soundtracks though 😊
Cuddling a stranger can be so awkward at first! Don't get me wrong, it's totally worth it to stick to it. But music makes it so much easier. Having said that, I try to let the client decide, the whole session is designed by them and cultivated for exactly what they want.
