I have asked and befriended a few professional cuddlers but don't understand the friend feature. With respect, I am only here for support with platonic cuddling and to find cuddling partners, not to make friends. There are but so many hours in the day.

It's not that I think so little of the friend list, on the contrary, it can give you an idea about people. But I am a very authentic person and would not want to give the impression I'm friends with someone I only had one message with. That seems like misrepresenting myself and I'm not willing to do that.

I will say, @WKplatonic , that your take on "platonic" puzzles me. I've seen you mention a few times now that you are not looking for friends on the site, only platonic cuddles, but by most definitions of human relationships platonic = friendship, as opposed to romantic/sexual/familial/professional. In saying you're not looking for friends, do you mean you're not looking for people with whom to do other activities? Or do you somehow manage to keep cuddling completely devoid of friendship? Perhaps we just have different definitions of friends, as well (which is no bad thing).
@cuddlefaery I think a better way to understand platonic in terms of how Plato would have understood it is as seeking excellence, and encouraging others to seek excellence as well. Certainly Plato had a lot to say about friendship but I don't think it requires us to go in that direction. See also agape, the concept of loving the whole world, rather than just an individual.

The word romantic usually causes the word "ew" to develop instantly in my mind... but if we're getting spaceships involved, that's a different story 🛸
I do it to fuel my massive ego. The more perceived approval and kinship I have from interweb strangers, the more powerful and victorious in life I become.

Upon further discussion, I think perhaps part of the disconnect lies more in my definition of "friend" and "friendship" being different than perhaps the majority, which isn't that surprising with my being neurodivergent and always having perceived and experienced social interactions differently 🤷🏻♀️ I just hadn't realized that my concept of friendship was that alternative.
I do regularly promote we discuss definitions of terminology for precisely this reason, though. So much that we think of as being universal or "normal" is entirely culturally bound and subjective.
