Last minute cancellations

If I book with a pro and cancel last minute, I am expected to pay a cancellation fee and I accept that. But what if the professional cancels the day of an appointment? Is there any compensation to me as a client?

"Cuddle Comfort does not have an official cancellation policy... The guidance we provide suggests a client should pay half the session cost when cancelling within 12 hours. In the reverse scenario, the professional cuddler should compensate the client with a discount.

When a prepaid rental space arrangement is involved, the cancelling party should pay the full price of the rental cost when cancelling within 24 hours."

  • @HugConnoisseur Yes. You saved money unless you paid a deposit.

  • @HugConnoisseur they send us a note saying we should consider offering a discount upon rescheduling for canceling within either 12 or 24 hours … I can’t remember which

  • @HugConnoisseur If you believe in the precept that "a penny saved is a penny earned," then, in a way, you're next cuddle is half off.

  • You can also air your grievances on the forums at no extra charge.

Just one word about that, though. Be careful that you're not making any mistaken assumptions about the Pro.

Otherwise, you'll be taken to the cleaners for free.

  • A side note would be that many pros will offer credit towards a future session, a discounted future session or things of this nature so it doesn’t hurt to ask.

  • This is the worst part of cuddling. People are not reliable in most industries, this one is no exception.
My advice, don’t pay deposits to anyone and consider your hotel as a sink cost. Just accept that nothing is 100% guaranteed.
This is about stress relief. Don’t add to yours.

  • As @Nature_Lover_ said in regard to a discount on a future session, the rules do state that. I’ve only had a pro cancel last minute once. I hadn’t paid a deposit but I was annoyed because my availability is limited. I didn’t express that I was annoyed, I was polite. We rebooked and she offered me a free hour so I paid for 2 and had a 3rd hour for free. She even stayed an additional hour at no cost so I ended up with 2 free hours. I’m not sure if she felt bad for cancelling or was just content but I didn’t complain lol My whole point is things happen and if you stay polite and understanding, hopefully things will work out and she’ll make up for it in the future.

  • Its normal to get cold feet. But following thru is worth it.

  • My goal is to never be the one cancelling. I also host so the risk of being cancelled on isn’t an issue for me. It’s a lot more difficult when travel is involved and accommodations have been booked, for both the client and the pro.

  • As a Pro, the only time I had to cancel was when I got Covid and the Client was very understanding. I can’t imagine anyone would want to cuddle with someone who is sick.
I’ve had a few last minute cancellations and only one offered to compensate me. Most no-shows didn’t apologize and just disappeared, no manners and rude.
What happens more often is the last minute “inquiry”. The kind when a guy sends out 5 requests to different Pros asking for a session. Sometimes i can be available but then I never hear anything back. I don’t not count on anything.
