I would LOVE to know definitively unequivocally categorically undeniably that we are NOT alone.
While no proof of life can be offered at this time, it is certainly an affront to logic by those who disbelieve in the existence of extraterrestrial life. As a species, we are an infant who has yet to leave its crib. We know virtually nothing outside of our immediate, observable space. In the future, we will finally venture "out there," and discover many other empty cribs.

When talking about the idea of life existing in locations other than our Earth, or our Solar System I find it useful to know if we mean, āDoes life exist, at all, anywhere but here?ā, and, āHas alien life or alien intelligence visited us here on Earth?ā

I think that it does, to a near certainty. Given the vastness of the universe it would be extremely unlikely that life only occurred here.

I think it has not, to a near certainty. And for exactly the same reason, funnily enough. The vastness of space/time makes it extremely unlikely that intelligences from different places would be able to encounter each other.
Which is admittedly a mind bending bummer, because who wouldnāt want to date an Orion Diplomatic Dancer?

Itās nice to think that alien bodies and forms would be compatible, or at least not harmful, to ours, but we truly have no idea.
The field of extraterrestrial xeno biology is still developing, and like so many things that are based on theories and concepts, as opposed to observable data and physical evidence, there are a LOT of differing opinions and schools of thought.
I just watched the movie 'nope,' now I'm afraid to start my ranch b/c that's where the visitations start š š If they were friendly aliens, I'd totally be down to be taken to their planet. The scary part is figuring out if they are friendly. š½

Iāve always assumed that other life beyond our planet likely exists and even occupying our space here on earth. It makes sense that we donāt have the capacity to see it. All we know is what weāre able to know? Or maybe constant events that we experience but donāt understand are the actual evidence? I donāt have the scientific vocabulary to explain this like many of you but basically humans have limitations.
@CharlesInWI Meaningā ālifeā as we know it or have the ability to recognize it? Thatās where I get stuck because I still think we might not be able to see it with our limited senses.

I agree, the limits of our senses cause some fundamental problems with our ability to truly trust anything we perceive.
That said, our knowledge, and the science and technology we use, develop, and improve daily seems to trend towards better equipment for sensing and utilizing things beyond our limited senses, such as radio, and for that matter communication technology as a whole.
Personally I tend towards a mechanistic world view, if only for pragmatic reasons.
Sure, simply because no one has seen a dragon (the sentient, 3 ton, flying and fire-breathing school bus magic reptiles) doesnāt specifically mean they donāt exist.
And, formally someone who follows scientific methods will stipulate that the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.
But, thereās LOTS of smart phones, satellites, remote cameras, and flat out people around. And we still havenāt found one.
A lot of non-scientific folks like to ācheckmateā scientific folks into admitting āwe donāt know for certainā, and think of it as a victory.
But the truth is, that bit of humility is scienceās great strength, and the very core of discovery.
Now, as always, the question is always about whether science and technology can stay that half a step ahead of disaster, and humanityās seemingly innate and infinite capacity for destruction.
@CharlesInWI Thanks for that, I feel limited in what I can understand, for science and technology, my brain isnāt trained for that type of knowledge. Thatās interesting in itself. Even as humans, the differences between our own interpretation and comprehension. I have to see it to understand it.

If a tree falls in the woods and YOU do not see it or hear it, did it really happen? Aliens have existed before humans. The problem we face as a society is we are not creative but instead consumptive and pick and choose what we consume to no end. Technology and industry for a majority of us is a new concept just under a century old, but the fact is technology has always been ahead of what we can comprehend because it was alien to us. Mass production dumbed us down so that when we catch anything we cant individually comprehend on a hand held device we need affirmation. Since we are connected to all things living in this Universe the affirmation should be life. Unfortunately we pay such little attention to life that we continue to look for answers in things the aliens probably find minuscule and unimportant. Open your third eye if you have time and see all the things life has to offer. Or look at the shiny object on google and become amazed at what may be real. Im a cat.š I do know by reading comments on here, alot of people overstand what Im saying.
They may want to cuddle, but hygiene is important, they want a deposit on venmo and no touching their antennas or gangly things. No they will not host on the mother ship.

That was the HUGE credibility buster for the āwhistleblowerā who claims the US Government has over a dozen recovered alien spacecraft. That would mean China and Russia would probably also have about that many (I canāt think of any reason why aliens would only visit North America after traveling light years to get here).
That really begs the question of how can aliens be so good at building interstellar spacecraft but such bad drivers they keep wrecking their spacecraft once they get here? Maybe Elon Musk can teach them about self driving vehicles so they quit crashing once they get here š

I've only taken an interest in this subject recently but I've seen that said a couple of times. I don't really understand that view.
Isn't it reasonable to assume an error rate in most things regardless of technological advancement? If a person was taken from a few centuries ago and brought to our time seeing us flying in our planes, that person would consider us gods and yet we still manage to crash those planes.
