Hmm... why can't I select both or 'Both'?
Looks like there's awareness in a subsequent field:
I'm guessing if I select Men, then it works like tag matching? Like, anyone putting 'Men' in their profile as whom they cuddle, they would show in search results?
Sorry if I missed this.
Right, it's primarily based on who your potential partner "will cuddle" and they can select either or both, but you can only select one.
The search form is missing the Other option from the "they cuddle", which on CC covers all the trans and non-binary identities. It's already been brought up in the suggestions thread as it's hugely problematic for people who are GNC/NB who want to feel safe knowing that the people they find will be comfortable cuddling them.
The search techically does not need a "both" 🤔 because if you are looking for someone who would cuddle with you, and you are a man, you would select men, woman = women... But as @cuddlefaery mentioned another option would be helpful for those who are trans and non-binary.
@LadyVel having a "both" or "all" would be helpful too, though, for people who are genderfluid or for people who would specifically like to find partners who don't have a preference, for whatever reason.
I would also like to note - the title of this thread is misleading as being bisexual has nothing to do with choice in cuddle partner, for one thing. Additionally, bisexual does not mean "men and women", it means "heterosexual and homosexual", i.e. "same gender and other genders", thus being bi is an umbrella term that can cover being attracted to 2+ genders, including trans, non-binary, and non-conforming folks.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure why the search form has a spot for the other person's sexuality as sexual attraction shouldn't figure into platonic cuddling at all. If the person will cuddle people of your gender, and you will cuddle people of theirs, that's all you need to know.
@cuddlefaery Isn't "genderfluid" already covered by just changing your gender or the gender you prefer or will cuddle...?
I don't think "genderfluid" would make sense as a gender especially when gender is already selectable.
It should have an Everyone option, just like the matching section in our profiles. Seems like a programming oversight, to me.

It is frustrating in the ideal cuddle buddy selection you have to choose between women, men, and everyone. I'd like there to be more options. It's overwhelming when it's on everyone, but putting it on women feels like excluding the trans comunity.
The system is old, and was never perfect. Updating it is in competition with a thousand other coding priorities.
In the interests of clarity and balance, the site allows people to specify their gender in detail, and to search in detail. In other words it's easy to find people of the gender you'd like to cuddle. It's just sexual orientation (technically irrelevant anyway) and who they cuddle (theoretically important!) that have limited options.
The site's owner has described the site as 'sex positive', and everybody is welcome here, irrespective of gender or sexual orientation.
