Suggestions algorithm?

It seems like the suggestions at the top of the homepage seem to have followed a certain demographic more and more over time recently, but I can't tell if that's because of an algorithm based on what I've clicked, or just more users online within that demographic.

Note: It doesn't matter what the demographic is.

    Hmmm. It always has seemed pretty random to me, since the people being posted are so far away from me I could never meet them.

    Agree with @WriterGF, always seemed both random and pointless to me - sometimes I click on one before remembering that they're scattered in random locations and probably not near to me.

    @WriterGF @CuddleWho - It defaults to who signed up last. Click on "Nearby" if you want it to only show people near you.

    Right, but then the search radius is 200 miles (way too big), and half the people it shows me haven't signed on in 6 months or more. If I'm clicking on something extra, why don't I just click the search button and get results that are actually useful?

    @WriterGF 😆 That seems like the demographic of "too far away from me".

    By the way, why are there no Reply buttons on the comments here?! This really needs a quoting system.

    I think there may be confusion with the suggestions sections I'm referring to and the radius search (magnifying glass or the Cuddlers button or the Nearby tab, which are based on a default or selected radius).

    There is no confusion. In any of the sections you're referring to ("Professionals" or "Enthusiasts" or "Online" or "Nearby"), click to the second page of results, then click "Show more", and you'll see that your results come from a normal search, just with ridiculous, useless filters.
