Is visiting somebody's profile more than once stalking them?

edited July 2023 in General

I feel like that term is being thrown around loosely. I have a habit of clicking on profiles especially of those who participate in the forums. There is nothing in anyone's profile that isn't meant to be seen by others on this site. I'm only talking about viewing what is accessible to the public on this site and not looking for them elsewhere(which would be stalking).

I don't. They may have forgotten they already visited me or need to recheck something in my profile. If they were visiting every day, then yeah, I would wonder about it, but it's not like they're sitting outside my house.

  • I’m not really answering your question with one of the options above, just sharing my experience.
If I continually see comments on the forum of something I liked or want to see who posted something, I may check their profile once. If I see I want to check it repeatedly, I usually say, “hey, I liked your comment,”, or I explain why I keep checking it.
I had one profile that I could never remember who it was because of the profile pic, but then once I clicked on all pics, I saw his face and could remember who it was. But the profile pic on the forum was kinda generic, beautiful but generic, with no face. So I explained why I kept checking it. We had a short convo. Soon after, it was updated to a more recognizable pic and now I know who it is when he posts. And now I can remember who it is just by the profile name.

  • I look at profiles when I am considering scheduling. I don’t make any distinction between the ones I’ve previously checked and new ones. I could really care less who looks at mine and how often.

  • I flip my profile pic around so I know for some people that may be why they clicked me.

If I see an interesting avatar pic I tend to click to see it better or if I like someone's comment I may check them out.
Sometimes I forget I've clicked people before. lol

  • No … It’s not stalking .. however … I do wish they’d say a quick hello 😊

I mostly look at profiles of people on the forum, and anyone who visits me. Sometimes I’ll send a note. I enjoy talking to people in general. I’m pleased when anyone views my profile!
And many times i just hit a name accidentally. My uncoordinated fingers.

  • It's not stalking to me. But it's odd when it's the same ones over and over and over but never say hi. 🙃
Like come on don't be shy, slide into my dms and have a lovely conversation. ☺️

@sage91436 I don’t usually write a note to a professional unless I’m trying to schedule. I would say “hello”, but I also want to be respectful of the pros and I don’t want to waste their time with unnecessary texting.

  • I'm also afraid of messaging a pro unless I intend to book with her. I don't want to be one of the time wasters.

  • Context matters tho ....
A stalker can look at a profile once and still be a stalker

Mike don't go on my profile 😂

  • It's more of an issue if someone keeps checking out a profile and never says anything. Worse if I send a message saying thanks for checking out my profile and they don't respond. And even worse when they do respond and tell you they were using your pics ... um, don't speak another word. 😳

  • I had someone (another pro in another state) message me because I viewed their profile. I don't message people...clients or pros, just because they looked at my profile. I'm not sure what they even wanted, except to tell me they knew I looked at their profile.

  • I don’t think so, I’m still a little nervous meeting someone for the 1st time and I will read their profile line by line a few times before I reach out to them.

One word of advice to prevent actual stalkers:

Never use the same photos on this site that is used anywhere else. Some people will put them in a reverse image search and see what they can find.

  • @Lisa123 - Please 🙏 tell me that last line in your comment above was a bad joke 🤢

  • IMHO just seeing the same person visit you multiple time is not enough information to ascertain intent. It could be someone with nerves that is still thinking about whether they want to book or not, it could be someone that is just checking who’s active in their area or, yes, it could be someone with more nefarious intentions.

I think sending a friendly message hello is fine to let them know that you have noticed their visit. Based on whether they respond or not, you can then decide if you want to ignore it or outright block them from seeing your profile if you are uncomfortable.

    @sage91436 hello 👋🏻
I have to look at profiles more than once, because sometimes there’s so much information in the profile or sometimes things get updated with new pics or pricing so I like to check in every once in a while

  • [Deleted User]MrAdmirer (deleted user)

    Nope.

  • @lonelytauros hey how are you!!
And I completely agree with younon that. Pictures change, there’s hundreds of profiles people are going to forget they visited or just looking for updates.

I have people that have visited my site dozens of times and never said hello. As a pro I was anlways under the impression it’s frowned upon for us to reach out first. And I don’t want to pressure anyone. I know a lot of people are just shy.

  • It's not stalking, unless the person has been blocked, then reaches out via another profile. TBH, I'm not checking my visitors list often, so maybe there's a stalker or two in there I'm missing? 🤣😂

  • When someone comes to your profile multiple times a day, never really corresponds, you get an uncomfortable feeling about them so you block them, then they go to other pros asking if they know why they were blocked, then go to other cuddle sites to message you and ask why you blocked them, that to me is stalking. (True story) Just visiting others profiles out of curiosity wouldn’t be considered stalking.

  • So my phone glitches and takes me to their profile. So I just apologize if its an issue

  • @Hollydollhugs - Those people are unstable. It even notifies them if they've been blocked that attempting to circumvent it will lead to a permanent ban. It shouldn't matter being blocked by an internet stranger whom they've never met before.

  • I'm not bothered by visitors or their frequency. I know I can forget, or just get mixed up with so much out there that I sometimes need a refresher. It's also sometimes nerves.. idk about everyone else, but mine says don't message professionals unless you intend to book. I was contacted by one, and didn't respond because I wasn't sure on decorum. I felt bad because I didn't want her to feel ignored or rejected, I also don't have current intentions of booking a paid session. 🤷‍♂️

  • @Mike403 yeah, some take it very personal.

  • @JohnR1972 not a joke. I intentionally pick photos that are not provocative because I don't want to give the wrong impression.

  • I had a guy message me "What do you want?" because I clicked on his profile once.... so I just blocked him. I don't need drama in my life. =)

  • More than once ? No. More than once a day ? Could be.

  • @Mike403 exactky what I would have done. I have accidentally clicked on someone’s profile, I want to say Oops, but I just let it go. Honestly I’ve fallen asleep while phone in hand and on the site, I probably clicked on dozens without realizing it, lol.

  • @pmvines - It's not like your profile changes that often. If they really like looking at it that much, they can easily easy save a copy on their local device and look at it to their heart's content without you knowing.
