I was watching a clip about some lady freaking out at DFW airport, claiming that the flight attendant wasn’t real and theres been all these theories and one is that they are planting robots or robot like beings into society. Now, reality or most society would say that she was either drunk or high but she did sound somewhat terrified. What are your thoughts?

    Transhumanism as the thread title I am not seeing the connection to the story as transhumanism is when a human modifying their body with tech not a 100 percent robot.

    @Mike403 I’m an ex- bartender. Booze is a stimulant. I’ve seen it do lots of bizarre things to otherwise rational people. Woman might have had other issues and was on medication, and added booze on top of that.

    You really do seem to be at odds with a lot of seemingly insignificant things I post. What is your deal?

    @MrAdmirer - I was joking as in she has to be on something other than booze... Also booze is not a stimulant. It's a depressant.

    This company Boston Dynamics makes humanoid robots doing maneuvers most humans cant do. They have militarized vids involving these robots probably not good for CC. Spot is their robot dog and will soon be in every home in America; no poop, 100% obedient, no vet, no dog food just charge every day and has attachable multifunction arms and tools. Including building holiday tree while you're at work.

    Dont seem very cuddly though...

    @CelestialTouch those are some amazing clips. They’re so lifelike it’s almost scary. I’ve seen so many movies about this topic, and they say movies predict the future. In your opinion, what’s the chance of them becoming sentient?

    They are run on algorithms as I understand it. They have vids showing how they are run. According to an ex google employee some A.I. thing already is sentient. Combine that with something like Atlas/spot and who knows... im not in the field, all I have observed is what they publish. I doubt they would publish next generation intellectual property, they probably keep that behind closed doors. Spot is for sale fyi, $74,500.

    While alcohol is technically a depressant, when it's first ingested, it acts very much like a stimulant. Alcohol triggers the brain to release dopamine, a neurotransmitter that provides energy, stimulation, and good feelings.

    @CelestialTouch I watched that video of the Boston Dynamics bot dancing when it first came out a while back. I loved it lol.

    They’re already devising ways to implant chips in the brains of the military so as to communicate wirelessly via the brain itself - “brains being networked together, and the uploading and downloading of memories.” It was part of the human 2.0 2017 movement involving the creation of human centaurs or the human “upgrade.”

    @Mike403 as @RockRollCuddle stated, alcohol is in fact a stimulant at low doses, and I have seen it many times cause people to act very paranoid or flat out delusional. I suspect the woman on the flight was either claustrophobic, afraid of flying, on medication or many/all of the above. And to calm these nerves on a plane, a lot of people get an alcoholic drink and all it can take is one drink to stimulate and set them over the edge to the point where they try to open the door to get off the plane, or in this case actually believe we need Blade Runners because we have replicants living among us. There is no way we are that advanced with the technology just yet, and they certainly would not randomly insert them into the populace even if we were.

    Interesting. When I saw the thread title, I assumed that it was going to be about people who self-identify as other species. Never thought about cyborg-related topics.

    I don’t think this was about alcohol or drugs, some people believe themselves to be intuitive and listen to their “gut” instinct so it’s possible she felt this way, people on the plane said she didn’t come off drunk at all

    @Nadiacares a woman’s intuition is usually pretty strong. Whatever it was, it was strong enough to delay her travel plans.

    @MrAdmirer I think the technology is there, and if we were just to go with this as an example, it could be that they just wanted to see how a robot like being would interact with the human populace. I know we’re all talking about conspiracy theories and things that are probably beyond our comprehension but let’s just think of it as a possibility. And don’t get me started on reptilians (I know you said replicants, but it just made me think of Reptilians) I might have to open a new thread for that. Lol 😂

    Someone once wrote that when a deer walks into a clearing, suddenly freezes and then takes off running, no one says it's all in the deers head. Humans have the same ability to sense when something is off, but more often than not, fail to listen to it.
