@WriterGF - People have fallen in love with someone online who turned out to be romance scammers. You have no idea who they are until you meet.
@WriterGF I promptly put my used socks in the hamper. I will take that to mean that I am the perfect catch 🎣
@Mike403 - calm down. When two respective adults "catch feelings", then happy day. CC is not here to play Cupid. "Catching feelings" is not a bannable offense. Moderators are not in the business of matchmaking OR as divorce attorneys.
Coming here with the INTENT to date and romance? That is a different story: though shalt not. CC is not Tinder.
@Sideon - I was talking about declaring their love to them over messaging here before even meeting.
@Mike403 - then that would be up to the two involved, if either party reported the other. It wouldn't be up for discussion on a general forum.
Ha yeah, those declarations are usually accompanied with more descriptive language (and sometimes photos…) that is def not allowable here. Those are more extreme cases where the user has been reported for inappropriate communication.
@Sideon @Charlie_Bear - It just seems like they made their intention clear if they brought up going on a date through messaging here especially if they haven't met yet and the posted rules saying that using the site for dating is a bannable offense.
It's just my opinion, which I tend to give a lot in these forums.
In the end, with the pro it's a professional relationship. Would you confess to a cashier, hairstylist, masseuse, or financial advisor that you're attracted to them? I know cuddling is personal, but it might mean you are so touch deprived to the point that any person of your preferred gender that touches you then imprints on you. That's maybe more the issue than a cuddler suddenly becomes this lovely person. Maybe try getting touch needs met in different arenas.
Also, it's a paid cuddling session, not a date.
@cylee1180 - Exactly. It's easy to feel attach to a cuddler unlike a cashier who only rings you up, but you're not physically touching. No matter how much I love being with that person, I don't want to break any boundaries or make anyone feel uncomfortable. If the feelings get too strong, the healthier option would be to see other pros.
@Mike403 Agreed and I think there are many area in life that we can seek touch - like anything else it takes time and effort.
Looks like many here think its the touch that invokes feelings of attachment. Everyone is different and there can be other reasons or a combination of reasons why people can get attached
@cylee1180 oh boy, work in customer service, you'd be surprised at how mNy people who develop attachments/feelings to their cashiers at the grocery store or waitstaff at their favorite restaurant and try to act on it. "I must be special to them because they remember my order!" It's not uncommon.
@AllAboutSoul you hit that one on the head! Whether it was when I worked for a bank, Starbucks, or other food service, there were always people who mistook kindness and being good at your job making connections and remembering details about your customers as something far more romantic. Always led to some uncomfortable conversations and some very hurt feelings.
All the more reason to do things like cuddle though, people are so starved for basic human kindness in the day to day that they can't differentiate.
Waitresses are going to be friendly to their customers in hopes for bigger tips. Not because they want to date them. Why is this a difficult concept to understand?
@Mike403 For the same reason they think pro cuddlers who are getting paid must be into them ... people are desperate for human connection.
I just assume that nobody will ever be interested in me. That way there's no hurt feelings. Trying to date had become too stressful.
Professional cuddling has been a way to feel affection even if money is involved which has been the strongest anti-depressant for me. Instead of being depressed when it's over, I look forward to the next one.
@AllAboutSoul I have had the same problem in the hotel industry and as a receptionist for a government building, and even as a dance teacher in schools. Basically women and femmes in any service industry face it 🤦🏻♀️ I'm sure it happens to a few masc workers as well, but it seems in our society to primarily burden femme presenting folks.
And @Mike403 it's not always just for better tips - it's also because it's become expected in the service industry and if we don't behave that way we endanger our job. Worse still, rejecting unwanted advances at work can also endanger our jobs and put us in actual physical danger....which is why many women have resorted to using "soft" rejections or "ghosting" (not real ghosting, but just not responding to unwanted attention when soft rejection fails). It's a systemic problem with no simple solution that will have to be fixed by addressing multiple contributing issues.
@cuddlefaery - I miss the rejection hotline number to give out instead of your real number.
@AllAboutSoul Dang! That stinks. Like this barista who's flirting w all the customers? Lol
@Mike403 back in the early 00s, my friends and I used to give out a local gay male phone sex number that had a billboard in downtown Sacramento 😂 it was useful because it had local area code. I only used it for the really creepy guys who just wouldn't take a hard no for an answer.
@Sideon
In fairness, love is a very destructive disease.
@cylee1180 that was hilarious! @cuddlefaery OMG, hotels! I also have lots of crazy stories from my hotel manager gig. 🤣😂
@AllAboutSoul we'll have to compare sometime 😂 traveling always seems to bring out the best and the worst in people, both for which make for great stories!
@AllAboutSoul Too true!
Feelings of gratitude for being able to share a safe space and get touch needs met is wonderfully pleasant.
Catching romantic feelings is awkward and ethically challenging. Dual roles are confusing, is this person your paid cuddler OR your romantic partner? If you stop paying would they remain? If yes, how do you feel if they continue to gain income from cuddling others? How would they react if you continue cuddling others?
I re-read this post again
This is not a dating site but it can be a place to learn new conversation skills and positive touch which are helpful in relationships
For someone new to relationships and dating and all, being close in this cuddling is a great way to not only experience positive touch and offering it back. Helps to build confidence and more
Talk to the cuddler about your background and expience. Not for dating but general conversation. Find the comfortable conversation
With regards to falling for someone - can happen for sure but there are apps for that. This is not one of those apps. Confusion around the difference between will make your experience cuddling truly hard for everyone involved
@cuddlefaery My boss, who called himself The Italian Stallion, was the worst one of all.
My cuddling partner and I have been together for just over two years, she is also my caregiver. She does a lot for and with me. As long as I think of our relationship as platonic we don't have a problem with it.
For this to be a consensual platonic cuddling site, it blows my mind that the word "platonic" is not used more
I miss my last partner, its been a while now so I dont know if I could start sessions again if she texted me but I guess it was good while it lasted. She really was perfect in every detail, except late night txt messages.. we'd be sleeping then suddenly tweedy bird (txt message alerts) from her at odd hours. She really was a unique individual and Im glad to have gotten to know her a little.
I truly feel bad for those people that confuse commerce with connection.
Loneliness can cause some painful fractures in how we perceive relationships, and our own value.
