I’ve been thinking about moving to Los Angeles due to how many cuddlers are there in the area. Do you guys think it’s worth it even tho California is super expensive? I’m so tired of being intimacy deprived in the current place I live 😔
Texas.
I would say no, don't move to LA just for cuddles. Move to LA because there's an awesome music scene, arts, culture, and people from all over the country and the world to mingle with. And, sure, cuddle while you're there.
I love California and the Los Angeles area, though I am biased since I was born and raised here. There are many amazing pros out here, though I haven’t had much interaction with too many enthusiasts. I admittedly have not put in the effort myself, though, so it’s no fault of theirs. If moving to cuddle was an actual possibility, there are plenty of cities I would look in to (including in Tennessee). I have met so many pros and enthusiasts on here that live too far away to cuddle. If I could I would road trip the country to meet them. At least I have been able to attend Meet & Greets and have had an amazing time doing that.
@teddybear888 What part of Texas?
@Charlie_Bear Have you tried finding pros instead of enthusiasts? There's so many pros in California , I lived there I would never be intimacy deprived again in my life but unfortunately it comes at a cost and the cost is how expensive California is to live.
I’ve noticed quite a few cuddlers in Austin, Houston, Dallas. But really, this is your call, mate. You gotta do right by you according to what’s best for your life. Best wishes.
So you would have to add the cost of living in CA to the cost of hiring those pros. If it ended up being so expensive to live there you couldn't afford pros, suddenly you're in a Twilight Zone episode.
I lived in Palm Springs for nearly 20 years and LOVED IT. I work remotely so I can live anywhere but unfortunately I can’t go back to California it is just too dang expensive
I got my start around San Jose/SF. There were some really awesome cuddlers there. I'm sure LA is similar or maybe better. There are also a lot of traveling cuddlers there which adds quite a bit to the variety.
The downside, in addition to the cost of living, was that if you can't host you can end up in some sketchy neighborhoods or have to endure a painful amount of traffic (or deal with parking) in order to meet. Once I got towed in SF during a session and it cost me like $550 to get my car back lol.
J an extra perspective from a local and also a pro - Los Angeles is extremely isolating! Somehow in spite of being all jammed in together, everybody's alienated. I think that's why we have a big cuddle scene. I'm not sure what to blame it on, but tend to think it has something to do with traffic and incredible work demands. Make a cuddle visit.
LA is slowly getting out of control, I'm looking to get out of here haha.
But oooo the food is unmatched. (Thanks, Doordash!)
no I wouldn't recommend that. Not only is the cost of living in LA very high, but the only thing you'll find more of is pro cuddlers and after you spent all that money on rent and moving costs you'll go broke if you start paying pro cuddlers and get addicted to cuddling...then we'll find you on skid row with all the homeless people, and I am pretty sure no pro cuddler would see you then.
so thats how we got so many homeless...
I would not tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t do, but I certainly wouldn’t move there. Traffic and high cost of living would just add to my stress level. I’ve met a couple of excellent pros here who are within my budget. Best of luck in making the right decision for you.
I moved here to L.A. in January. I came out for 6 weeks and decided not to leave … I love it here but honestly finding and meeting friends has been horribly difficult. It is very lonely … Rent is crazy expensive and parking is a nightmare. But …. I love seeing the mountains everyday and am a short drive away from the ocean. Hoping time will fix the loneliness part. With all that said … I would strongly urge you to visit any area either several short trips or a long one before making any sort of decision about moving.
1) I would recommend no one ever, ever base a move to any location off of a single factor - particularly one that is so dependent upon the actions of others like "the cuddle scene".
2) California as a whole has been seeming a fairly large exodus to cheaper states during the pandemic because the cost of living just isn't worth it. Out of all my high school friends, I'd hazard 90% of them now live out of state now even if they went to college in state. I'm one of the very few who has moved back to CA recently.
3) are you basing your perception of the cuddle scene in your area solely off of this site? If so, I suggest you try checking some of the group sites as well because CuddleComfort (as much as we may love it) isn't the end-all-be-all if platonic cuddling.
4) if the scene truly is lacking in your area, perhaps before trying moving you might consider organizing groups in your area first. You may be surprised at how many people are interested. Someone has to be the first to start the grassworks and maybe that person in your area is you.
